how to change to console mode

How do u change half life into console mode

plizz help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

create a shortcut (go to desktop and use the right mouse button and click go to new and click shortcut)
put this in(C:\Sierra\Half-Life\hl.exe -console - game esf)
or if u already have a shortcut put "-console" at the end of it
and when in the game press ` to get the console
