how do i use steam?

I installed steam exatly according to the instructions, but how do i get my HL and its mods show up in the menu?? Plz help me

you have to enter your cdkey - open the list of games, click the browse games button in the bottom, then click the bottom left button in the window that pops up - "register a game I already own"

Then enter your cdkey, which has to be valid (legal) otherwise you cannot play.

And also, the installer says that games will be moved to steam folder and converted or something but it doesnt look like it did that.

how long have u waited till u made the decision that it makes nothing?

it'll normally ask you if you want to convert a game - but if you don't have any games in the my games menu the most common reason is that you havn't entered a cdkey.

Have you entered your cdkey into steam?
