How do I open ports?

Depends what Firewall you have, however some software ones should ask if you wanna allow access to that port if it hasnt been used before.

I don't have a firewall, but I can't connect to steam. I went on the steam site and it said I must have some ports open.

Your isp might be blocking some ports.

If it is your isp, then there isnt much you can do :/

They usually block ports to stop people from hacking others and also to block certain things.

try it the next day, i had the same problem b4 and i just waited 1 day and after one day, it could work
