Hosting a Internet Server through Steam

how do i host esf public server through steam? I copyed and pasted mr. satan's listen document but when i go to new game and choose game type and map and i start it all i see is basically a lan server. Nothing i added in the listen document is on the server (hostname, description etc) so if someone can explain how I do this that would be awesome

start the game, create server, create, wait for the map to load then type "sv_lan 0" in console

Or even easier, just add sv_lan "0" to your listenserver.cfg. But if that still doesnt work use Prozac's solution :yes:

So if u was to luanch a dedicated server and it doesnt show up in the server list...should i add the sv_lan 0 in the dedicatedserver.cfg file? will that make my dedicated server show up in the server list when i hit update?

First of all, do you have a router?

Then you'll have to turn off port :27015 to allow people to connect.
