HLDS Ping Booster

Hmm, just a question:

I'm under the impression that you need Meta Mod installed to use HLDS ping booster with a dedicated server. So this means that you have to wait for meta-mod to be updated for 1.1 for this to work.

But, on the other hand, the first few ESFORCES servers that were up (the 16 player ones), immediately after 1.1 was released, were using the ping booster. How did those server use it without Meta Mod then? Is there a way I can use the HLDS Ping Booster for WIN32 dedicated servers "as of now" (without meta mod)?

Any help on the matter would be appreciated, thnx.

maybe you can use it without metamod but anyway i compiled metamod with 1.1 entities so you can use it untill an official metamod version is released

Yes you need MetaMod to run HLDS Ping Booster, no you don't have to wait because a custom compilation of MetaMod v1.16 has been released w/ the ESF v1.1b entities (In other words it works w/ ESF v1.1b) and you can get it here >> http://forum.esforces.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24264

Or if you run Linux it is built into the HLDS system so you just add it to the command line

HLDS -pingboost 1,2 or 3

2 is the recommended setting.

What is that ping-boost stuff, is something that can reduce your ping. Please i want to know because i have a 56 k connection.

You don't need metamod for udpsoft's ping booster, but you need linux.
