I was browsing one of the Novalogic fansites, and stumbled upon this:

Representatives from motion capture firm PhaseSpace have have announced that California-based game developer NovaLogic (Delta Force franchise, Comanche 4) has purchased an Impulse motion capture system for use on future game development projects.

PhaseSpace, which specializes in developing new technologies and products for emerging motion tracking markets, counts among its clients a number of notable organizations and institutions, including University of California ? Berkeley, NASA, and Lockheed Martin, as well as German publisher 10tacle Studios and Belgian developer elseWhere Entertainment.

According to PhaseSpace officials, the company was approached by NovaLogic's manager or network operations, Glenn Kronick, following his reading of a November 2006 article in Computer Graphics World regarding motion capture technology that prominently featured PhaseSpace.

Following a demonstration of the technology, NovaLogic purchased PhaseSpace's Impulse motion capture technology, which will be used by NovaLogic to create more realistic in-game characters that show actual human motion, rather than just an approximation thereof. However, no information has been released concerning what current or future projects by NovaLogic will make use of this new technology.

I'm surprised Novalogic is still around.

I'm curious if they will bring out another massive online first person shooter or if their going to go in a different direction, only time will tell.

They should turn Tachyon: The Fringe into an mmo. That game did so many things so very well =/.

Heh, looks like the games in the pipe will get some serious animations.

I hope we see some realistic knife kills.

I'm hoping all the stuff people found on Clash of Dragons isn't what JO used to be, or what DFX turned into.

I know they have a few titles floating in dev hell:

Delta Force: Blowback (DF3, DF2 remake, or DFX expansion)
Operation: Acid Gambit (Panama)
the Unit (yes, they actually aquired the license to the CBS show)
Operation: Anaconda
"Clash of Dragons" (China vs. Taiiwan and the USA.)

They've been looking for people with Taiwanese and Chinese military service.

Duh.

Spoiler:
I'm sure they didn't stab people with Ninja-To's when they made Tenchu, but all the animations in there were motion capped.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

There goes one of my all time favorite shows. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I truly can't express how I feel right now. NOOOOOOOO!!! That breaks my heart. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

I sincerely believe that Novalogic can kiss my ass.

On-topic: This sounds like it could be good for games. But oh wait, Novalogic friggin' bought it, which means that we're going to see a lot of crap games with super nice animations. Welcome to Hell... for gamers...

They need to bring back Tachyon damnit.

Takes a bit of effort to get it to work properly, but I have half a mind to install it again.

Man the online Base Wars thing was fun.

Haven't heard from Novalogic in some time, good to see them still alive.
