Help with Converting a Model

Hi,

I am trying to convert a couple of exellent buu models for esf 1.2
problem is with the new animations in 1.2 the 1.1 models don't cut it.
I need to transfer the new 1.2 Buu bones to the old buu
I have a jpg to show you what I am refering to but my ftp is having issues at the moment.

Note this is only for personal use nothing else
also one of the models gives me this error

unknown attachment link 'Bip01 R Finger11'

I am using milkshape 3d also

Go to tools>HL>Edit QC file

Delete the line under hit boxes that has:
$hbox 0 "Bip01 R Finger 11"

Then save changes and compile, it should work.

I think the 1.2 buu has a few extra bones in the head also, bones used when youre being thrown and such. If thats the case, then you gotta assign the vertexes closest to that/those bones.

when deleteing bones from the .qc file dont you have to delete them in milkshape as well and rexport as an SMD file

then where would the attachment go? Shouldn't you change it to the 'Bip01 R Hand' instead?

illegal parent bone replacement in sequence "look_idle"
"Bip01 R Arm1" has "Bip01 R Arm ", reference has "Bip01 R Arm"

I got this alot in the recompliement
and the model was not complied due to these mesages =/

this is what I did,
I opened the qc file saw the following lines
(key I added===== in to seperate the lines of whatever)

dunno why but I have a feeling that max already have at least the tweak's buu one *advice*

i can tell you why you wont be able to compile my buu for buu with that skeleton and its very very obvious, hes not using a buu skeleton, hes using the vegeta skeleton, unles you know how to animate you aint geting him ingame anytime soon, cuz he does not fit the evil or fat buu skeletons, tweeks i have no idea what his is using, looks to be the same one though >_< and i told him not to,

and as already mentioned, (and btw you shouldnt have anyways, by alerting him of breaking a rule you broke one yourself, not very efficient if you ask me) dont double post under any circumstances unless you are told you can do so by a forum admin,

2.I thought it was alright to edit a model for your own personal use as long as it is not going to be disrabuted :'(

3. I just wanna edit this and go on about my business without anoying the origonal modeler or anyone else here

And nuttzy I was just told one of these is one of your models.
I mean no disrespect by trying to change the animations in your model, I love the model and just wanna be able to use it in esf 1.2
I do not want to change it and release it on the net.
Please can I have your permission to edit this model for my own personal use

i never said you couldnt 2 or 3 people have already tried to convert it and couldnt do it without reanimating some of it, go ahead, but it wont be as easy as drag and drop like most models

One more thing, there's an error on my thingy that says 'component 18.smd not found.'

WTH? There is no 18.smd.

that would explain the "not found" error then wouldnt it, lol,




on a serious note, its looking for the reference smd, which i assume is named 18.smd, if its not finding it then you have it named wrong, dont have it there, or spelled it wrong in the qc file,

Nuttzy, what did you meant by saying that pplz tried to convert it had problems with the animations?
even if I give it the buu animations from 1.2 and the sceleton aswell
why wont it work?

sure giving him the skeleton and animations would work but just comapre he buu skeleton to moy model and see how mismatched they are, it would be near impossible to fit them together to make the model deform even half decent
