I was a bit surprised to see there's no thread created for it. I've just finished re-watching the first season(second one is set to be released in April,2012) and i recommend it to all of you. It's a good show. Very solid story and character development.

I've read Books 1-4, and seen the first Season.

So far it's been 90% Faithful. Which is HONESTLY more Faithful than I thought it was going to be. Go HBO.

Im just now catching up. Im on episode 2 of Season 2 now.

I didn't see them actually killing Ed Stark like that. But his Son makes such a perfect king. The actor is such an amazing actor. The way he played it in the beginning of Season 2's episode 1 talking to the Lanister like that.

Yes, when I finished the first book, I too, was completely surprised.

Usually I can call an ending or an event. But the ending to Season 1 / The first book completely surprised me. I mean it'd be like Scrubs killing off Dr.Cox in the first season or so.

I just don't understand how you kill off a Main character like that so easily... Yet I look at Gurren Lagann then think of how it will easily develop the story so perfectly.

Yeah.

But at least it kept us surprised. It's not an easy to predict show. There are some moments you can, but quite a few take you by surprise. I really love it because of that. To many books, movies, ect, I'll read and I instantly can tell how it's going to play out.

With this book series, I was kept ever guessing. Maybe due to the PoV changes?

It does such a good job in immersing the viewer into this world. I mean... you even get attached to some of the characters in the process. I really liked Ned Stark's character and i can honestly say that i shed one or two tears(not too many because it's not manly :p). I really felt the emontional distress of the story.
And as you guys said... most of the time it's not predictable.

Indeed. I mean it does keep the story fresh. I am not gonna lie Edward Stark was my favorite Character next to Tyrion but Robb Stark is now my favorite next to Tyrion.

He's been in other movies?

I thought he only did LoTR and the show Game of Thrones. Never seen or heart of him in anything else and I watch a ton of movies, old and new.
