Having a network problem...

well see its like this when i first conencted to my home network, every computer showed up in my network places. But now i connected to the school network then came home and changed to the right workgroup for my home computer. BUT none of the home computers are showing up...does anyone know the solution? i can see my laptop on my dads computer but i can't see his computer on my laptop. thanx in advance

try to ping them (start -> run -> command -> ping [insert other pcs ip in here])

you should get an answer ...
windows network is slow ... especially the explorer ... NT (2k, XP) systems exchange some informations noone needs ... so it's slow and the explorer networks refreshes maybe every 5 minutes ...

open the explorer and type following in the address bar: //[insert other pcs ip or networkname in here]
[size=-2]if this doesn't work, try it with \\ instead of // ... I'm not sure[/size]
that's a faster way for windows explorer ...
