um a couple of days ago i saw somethin called halflife booster but it said u needed admin mod or something does anyone know more about this "booster"?if u do please reply with info and links and how it works and stuff

It is for servers. If you run a server you use it. It is not ment to be used as a client plug in... only a server plug in.

and from what i have heard...it is included in admin mod...but thats just what i have heard whether or not its tru i dunno..

not only that, it must be a dedicated server.

HLDS Ping Booster is a small tweak to the Half-Life Dedicated Server that drastically reduces player pings and generally makes the game much more responsive.

I don't know but it doesn't seem to me that it requires adminmod

There is a "WinHL-Booster" though, Ultraq. And the only servers I've seen running it also had adminmod.

You're right i guess, that's the one used by most servers (or atleast cs server). I remember in the old days (cs days ) it said something about "hullu" being the developer in the stuff you see while connecting to the server. My UDPSoft one is appearently a different one.

yeh see i have 56k so wenever i make servers others peoples ping are bad so the HLDS booster should fiz that right?o yeh and wats that winhl booster for?

It wont "fix" them but it may help them to get a better ping. You really shouldn't host a server on a 56k, especially if its a listen server, but you cant run the booster on a listen server anyway.

And Why The Hell Is It A Ping BOOSTER? It should be called Ping Reducer or somtin so some ppl dont get confused.

the ping booster should make dedicated servers run faster, but it dosent help when joining a server. however it is not reccomended to run a dedicated server on 56k. does that clear it up? (winHL does the same thing i belive).

its when people play half life off of your computer. your computer becomes the server
