If you mean the horizon on the first pic, then no, I sincerely doubt that.

Right now in the inteam you can. But later Layne will add barriers that prevent a player from doing so. Keeps the whole point of a 3D skybox more real if you dont get to see the edge of known space if you know what i mean XD

imo, it's a quite boring map if you take a closer look at the ground.
Either add more trees, or remove the current ones, cause they look a bit 'out of fashion' in this map.

This reminds me of the Tenkaichi map of Cell Games. Though without the Tanks and stuff destroyed on the sidelines..... Which that would be a beast thing. Add some destroyed tanks and a Hercule Imprint in one of the mountains.

I would have loved to see an epic lens flare effect on the sun but I guess that would have made it hard to see someone in front of you if the sun was in your direction as well. :(
More vegetation would do good too but the map still looks great the way it is

Great work!

i think it'd be awesome cause Solar Flare would be more like its meant to be; using the sun as ur background :p

Someone totally needs to make a wallpaper out of some of the kickass POTW's such as this one.

You mean you can't wait to play ESF Final :p
....a.k.a he can't wait to play the game again.

In other news, the map is sexy as always, Adam. And I've gotta agree with Dave with the sun, I have to say, it looks nice, but in my opinion, it needs to either be adjusted so it doesn't blind you and looks more in place, or just taken out completely.

It's so out of place though, it doesn't even really fit in ESF at all. And it just looks waaay too bright. It's blinding.

Out of place and blinding?

Its the efin sun for gods sake. Strategic placement when attacking in maps all the way i say :p Besides the lockon effect is still visible even if the player aint.

I'm aware that it's the sun, but again, it's out of place and blinding... it also shouldn't be that you have to rely on lock-on to keep track of your enemy due to the issues I've already pointed out.

\We already had issues with blinding skyboxes in 1.2, I don't think a blinding sun will really help the situation. :p

Lockon is a necessity. It replaces teh diamonds. No locnon means you are blind anyhow.

That aside taking the strategic approach and getting the sun behind your back while attacking someone is a plus for gameplay. Its not like the sun is that large and the skybox is not blinding. But if you can use it to your advantage it has the same meaning as using stuff like terrain.
