Does anyone happen to know how to do this? So far I've not gotten this to work. (or even know if it's possible to begin with)

NVidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings, either go to Global Settings or Program Settings (if you decide to do Program Settings, find Half-Life), after that you should see a bunch of settings including AA. Turn on what you want and then click Save.

NVIDIA's drivers let you set up profiles for different games in the settings. Try just tweaking your profile for Half-Life instead of forcing it upon every full-screen application.

Did that too, it's on 8x currently, which seems to make no difference at all.
Maybe it's steam being stupid.

Make sure you have the 'Use the advanced 3D image settings" marked in "Adjust image setting with preview".

Steam wouldn't have anything to do with it, especially with something like Half-Life where now you can only use Steam. The drivers scan processes. If it finds hl.exe, it's going to load its stored profile. Something is probably busted in the drivers. I'd rollback to an older driver, unless you have a GTX.

Hmm, guess that might be, I'll give it a try.

No difference, what-so-ever.
Even if I turn off AA all together, or put it at x16.
Outside half-life this works fine though. Though that's all game regulated and not being controlled by the control center. Guess I'm still doing something wrong.

Set them to this and you will have AA and a very good image quality from the Anisotropic Filterring.

Note that Antialasing Transparency doesn't work on HL1 's transparent textures for some reason.
I made a thread before about how to use AA and Anisotropic Filterring in HL1 by using the nVidia controll panel but it was totally ignored :-/

He knows the settings to use, they just aren't working for him...

It's quite weird though. The other settings there do make a change.
Basically everything changes, except the AA settings.

It's strange that I have a 7600GS (195.62 driver version) and AA works pretty ok :-/
