First off, I'm going to apologize for being way more rude than neccesary. I'm angry at other things ATM, and it rubbed off in here. I should not have been so short, or so rude.
Second, I am more busy than you, and I have a sick wife to take care of ontop.
Third, I am not an information despensing device, I administrate this forum and decide policy as well as police the people that police the public. I also do alot of things here that most people never see. I answer questions because I care about the community here.
Fourth, Paypal was a joke, it brought in $140 from two people over the year it was up, one was oktagone staff, one was a beta tester. The other donations come from the same sources, the host's staff, and the ESF dev team. No one used it, and I'm not convinced anyone will. So when you say to set up a paypal account in responce to what I said, when we actually had one up for a year or more . . . I couldn't help but get angry. That read to me "people can claim they paid for ESF, and thus they earn a right to whine" . . . it makes me really, really pissed off. My big problem here, is that I see a couple of gigs of traffic, and alot of money wasted, on people complaining rather than thanking. Actually, compliants aren't the problem, it's the **** attitude they come with that have pissed me off to no end. The funny thing is, the team doesn't mind paying, and never will. All they want, at the very minimum, is that you not disrespect them with bandwidth they pay for.
Fifth, I did answer the question . . . 1.1 Linux was only supposed to have the server code in it, but it had the client as well. Because the linux users now had the ability to play games, the team (;/) felt that holding on to win32 wasn't possible. The end result is our user base dling and installing 1.1, while the servers were still running 1.0. This is unlikely to change this week. The official ESF servers run by oktagone will be updated soon. Some people still prefer 1.0.
For GMan, alot of the whining has been the changes in melee, that essentially make spamming melee unproductive.
Now, no more flaming, I have apologized, and I expect it to end here . . . I was wrong for roasting you and I admit it, but I wan't you to understand that your little comment on paypal wasn't neccesary. Especially given the truth of the matter: It was there and no one used it.
