I just wanted to know which addons you are using for firefox and why.
I'll start with some of mine:
- Adblock plus: it just removed 90% of the ads
- customize google: no google-ads, better search results,
- faviconizeTabs: keep your tab list short
- flagfox: i just want to know where the sites are hosted
- greasemonkey: let us change the websites how we like
- live http headers: nice to know what data is really sent to the server
- noscript: no annoying spammy scripts
- platypus: greasemonkey helper =)
- ubiquity: give firefox commands
- wot(web of trust): sometimes it is nice to know what a website does really do. e.g. phishing site, download-abo-trap,...
My greasemonkey scripts:
- Close Window(my own script): This script does nothing more then closing popups which won't be blocked through the other addons. e.g. click on download file -> new popup from usenext -> usenext gets closed (most of the time i dont even see that the window appears^^ )
- Google domain blocker: Blocks irrelevant and spam domains in the google search results
- youtube enhancer: gives youtube some more features
- Google Kill - Click tracking: removes google's hidden javascript click track mechanism on search results pages
