FINAL FANASY XI and what your opinions are about it
You didn't have to call me a fool, when YOU'RE WRONG.Kama said:I have it, and I play it everday. The fool who said the JPN got it a year ago is a bad thing, why is it a bad thing? It's a great thing! They know how to do everything, you can ask them questions and they can help you with quests and missions that english players aren't strong enough. And they are great people, they usually will help you out.
FFXI is a great MMORPG, I wasn't going to get it at first either because I thought FF isn't an online type game, but they have beautifully made the transition over from Single to Multi.
There are creatures with the same model yes, but what MMORPG doesn't have that? You can't expect the creators of these games to completely mesh skin and animate 100 different animals for every single area especially when they game already consists of over 200 areas to visit. Then they also have to make quests, model the armor, cities, sprites, everything. You can't possibly really expect them to have that kind of time. That's just not reasonable.
And the thing I like most about FFXI is it has planned out environments. Everything is made some way because it was supposed to be. I can't tell you how annoying it is to be running through an endless plain of random hills and mountains just because the Creators of the game wanted to have a big world map. FFXI makes a big world map, but it makes it fun. It's not random, it's planned, and you can clearly see that while playing the game.
That's my two cents, FFXI is one of the greatest MMORPG's I have played, especially combining two languages so well, and being able to support PC and Ps2 players on the same servers.

see that? no u prob wont because ff xi doesnt have it :\
It's funny too because in those games I played, they had a few areas, but each area had about 200 areas where the same monster would spawn and nothing else.. that's very good yeah. Can't imagine why I wouldn't want that.SailorAlea said:You didn't have to call me a fool, when YOU'RE WRONG.
"What MMORG doesn't have that?" Well, try ALMOST ALL?
I've played EverQuest, Anarchy Online, Earth & Beyond, Ragnarok Online, Ultima Online, Final Fantasy XI, City of Heroes, Planetside, Knight Online, Lineage 2, and a few others--and only one or two of them recycles models.
And thank you for not justifying your answer in the least? You could have at least said why you can expect it. Because I really don't see any reason why you would. They already give you a great game with the ability to communicate with another language. Give at least some reason for debate before just saying anything. It's no fun if you just say "Because I said so!"As for the Japanese already gotten it, beaten it, mastered everything so nothing would ever be "the first," (at least, for anyone non-Japanese) it IS a bad thing. I can't expect the creators to make different models for different monsters? Um, apparently I CAN expect it, because I can and DO expect it.
I don't have to justify my expectations for games. I expect MMORGs to have different, unique monsters. They do not create (usually) copies of the same locale, so why with monsters? The point is, that they DIDN'T 'give' me anything, or a 'great game,' and the translations are terrible and ineffective, both ways.Kama said:It's funny too because in those games I played, they had a few areas, but each area had about 200 areas where the same monster would spawn and nothing else.. that's very good yeah.
