I don't know about any of you but to me it seems like as the Final Fantasy games progress there graphics get much better but at the same time there stories get worse as they go, like they don't have time to do both right. For me what makes a good FF is the characters/main character, the progression of the story, the bad man/thing at the end, combat system, and little side things like games and mini quests.

FF7 was the best because of the characters and end boss but it also had the most disappointing ending.
FF8 I really didn’t care about any or the characters but the ending was the best.
FF9 started strong ended weak but had a really satisfying ending.

In FFX I just didn't really care for Tidus, he was always like hey guys lets go win one for the team and then hug after we win. The end boss I just didn’t care about and I found myself toying with them since you were able to break the 9999 limit. The game was super linear, the love plot was good up till the mid point of the game where it just died until the end scene. While I’m on it the end scene was good until the second half were it just made me not care about the first, which was really good. In the end FFX wasn’t a bad FF but it just lacked something, it started off strong and ended kind of weak.

In FFX-2 the only things that I don’t care for the looks of are:
1. Yuna and Rikku are a tad dressed down. Lets disguise ourselves with thongs and what not, no one will notice us...
2. Jumping... Don’t ever remember a FF where you could actively jump about the screen. Not that this is a bad thing but it just seems weird in a FF game.

However since the game is made by Square I am forced to buy it in the end so I will have to vote that it looks great.

/me gives Krillin a cookie

Smart man! i agree with everything you said.

one of the things i found with FF8 and 10, where the bosses you did not care about...

e.g

Ff7, had Seph, he was pure evil man, killed aries, wanted too kill everyone else, he IS evil itself, when you get too the last show down with him, you have fire in your eyes and want too punch the screen when he is on it :p

FF9, same thing with the guy on that (starts with a k, i cannot spell his name)

FF8 was just silly, there was no story with ultimasua REALLY, you only see her the once, when you kill her, not a good end boss at all, but yea, the ending owned

ff10... ick, lets not go into the end boss on this game, have yuna do "999999" dmg useing her normall hit makes very short work of the bosses and your summons when you fight them before hand.

More like Humiliation. FF Movie wasn't a Sequel but it was made
for FF Fans and it sucked. Therefore, Final Fantasy fits best in the
Video Game Category :p

And its unusual that squaresoft will make "Sequels" to one of
their RPG's. Its really odd. Are you sure FFX-2 isn't a rumor? I never
even heard anything about this.

And I visit the forums in www.chronogamer.net and their usually
informed on this site... bah forgot name anyway. The only latest
I have heard is a new Chrono Game called Chrono Break.
Thanks for coming to my defense (I think), but you misinterpreted my sentiment. :)

I've played FFX. I've seen quite a lot of the game. Ooooh... Pretty graphics. Can I have some interesting characters and entertaining gameplay to go along with that?

... No, huh? Crap.

I say that FFX-2 is going to be a bigger stinker than FFX because FFX was a stinker itself. The game sucked, but I think this sequel can do worse. Squeezing the female leads into hot-pants and giving them guns does not make a good game, especially when you're working with characters from a crapfest like FFX.

In my opinion, the Final Fantasy series went sharply downhill after 7.

too true... too true... more story less, oh my her ass is shaking when she walks.

FF7 had almost everything for me that makes a great game, except for the ending. All it did was leave me wondering and i'm guessing i'm not the only one. However I really don't think I would like to see a FF7-2 ever, given squares growing trend of graphics over story, character development, battle system and many other things.

Look at FF8 where you don't ever equip different weapons, armor, or accessories, the HORIBLE draw system and bad magic, hell i didn't even know most of the characters names until 1/2 way through the game because they were just so bland and see transparent.

By the way what the hell did Square think they were doing by 1) making a MMORPG and 2) calling it FF11. It should be called FF Online. As MMORPG's stand right now they are worthless games with RPG in the name, which is a blatant lie that hooks many people looking for a RPG. All they are about is who has the best equipment and who can camp the mob for that equipment and then sell it to players that are lower than you in money, levels and items. Bad bad bad wish they never went in that direction with the FF series.

If you want a MMORPG play Everquest not Final Fantasy.

Anyway I hope Square proves me wrong and makes me eat my words, as I deeply love their games.

The dudes name I think your talking about in
Final Fantasy IX is Kuja. Hese like a Kefka. He hungers for power
all this crap and dies by it. FFIX is like a remake of FF6 in my opinion.
All the characters are similar as hell.

And FFX was easy as hell. The Magus sisters are kinda useless
cause they do random spells/attacks depending on your commands.
I have gotten all the Celestial weapons except for Kihmari's.
I have no idea where the heck his celestial weapon is.

The hardest one was the Onion Knight though. I had to dodge
all that fricken thunder in the thunder plains. But it was worth it.

EDIT:

Has anyone captured all the monsters for that guy in the
Monster Arena in the clam lands? The monsters that guy creates
are hard as ****!!! Sometimes they regenerate 99999hp and
not even my bahamut which deals 99999 damge even with a
melee attack can defeat them. Sometimes they regenerate above
99999 like 12450987 and its hard. The one boss that whores this
is called the NES Slug. Its one big slug in a shell and when he is
weak you cant hit it for **** cause he goes inside his shell and
just regenerates all of his HP and then he comes back out with
full health. IS THERE A WAY TO KILL IT!?

To get Kihmari's weapon you need to go to that forest where you find a sphere of Tidus's old man. There is someone that you talk to where you have to catch some bugs, fairy flies, frogs or something. However there are 2 places that you are able to to this. One yields what you need the other a teleport sphere i think.

the mangus sisters are the best summon, if you have any brains you can figer out what they will do, its not that hard

and the nes slug is not the last monster in the arena, he is easy as pie:rolleyes:

I know what commands to give them but sometimes they do
something else. Like that bee one when you want her to attack
she sometimes doesn't use her most powerful attacks and the
one in the middle spends most of her time casting reflect. so that
when its her turn again she uses useless elemental spells that
sometimes wont harm the beasts.

I know their are more monsters than just the NES Slug.
Another hard one is this Horned beast that has the ability to hit
you 2-3x in a row if he wanted too. And sometimes throw fire balls
or torch you with its flamethrower and does so much damage.
The fact hese small. Bah anyway, The Sphere is the hardest one
for me. I have beaten the horned beast. The only ones I haven't
beaten is NES Slug, the Sphere, and this giant wolf like thing with
wings. He reminds me of The Ultima Weapon from FF6. You fight
another version of him after defeating Symore in mount gagazet.
The one im talking about does this "Rainbow Wing" attack. But
theres a harder version of him in the Arena. I even gave Ifrit
Curaga and all this other stuff. Its hard as hell.

Magus sister's are sweet cause there's 3 of em, and once you level Yuna up really high, they all start pumpin out some sweet damage levels. My personal fav is Anima tho, His regular attack (not pain) did 99999 damage, so I didn't really need anyone else.

I dont think i'll ever be able to play any of the newer ff's (9 upwards) because I cannot get a psx or ps2 to play them on.

Will FF7- 2 be released for pc?
