Fight For The Dragonballs -Porunga Mode-

I know this mode is already sorta in esf, but i think there should also be a more *team* mode version of it, where making wishes affects the *teams* winning. I know some of these are ideas other people have made (i thought they was good so i included them) Tell me of any faults there might be so i can think of a way it might be balanced.

- Porunga the namek dragon should be summoned on Namek maps. (Shenlong could be summoned alternatively on other maps if this mode was successful.)
- This mode should have round time (you dont respawn untill the round is over or someone revives you.)
- Starting health should start with an extra 300 health to make life last longer. (e.g goku 410 health) Alternatively you could have the same amount of starting health, and instead start off with 3 sensu beans standard. (none should be available to find on map though.)
- When holding a dragonball you may not use a move that requires both hands to be used (e.g kamehameha, gallitgun)
- Targeting someone when throwing a dragonball should aim it directly to them enableing them to hold the namek dragonball instead.
- You can hold up to two namek dragonballs at a time.*suggestion by niobe*
- This mode would "recommend" the cvar for max characters e.g 2 goku's max to *stop* everyone or a team going trunks/gohan for early transformations to make getting the dragonballs easier.

The three wishes should be as follows :

Destruction : Three random players on the other team are killed

Friendship : All allies are respawned (or possibly 3 random allies revived)

Power : Everyone on your team gains a share of the 1 million pl (1 vs 1 = a full 1 mil power gain) <*Suggestion by magmus*

i like youre idea, only i think the power has to be left out, though i dont think that this gamemode would ever be a succes, cause of the beamspamming guys

mabey for option 3 your team gets 1 million power devided evinley between them?

so a 1 on 1 will be similar to as it is now?

this is quite a good game mode sugestion: :yes: :yes: :yes: (3 out of 5)

Magmus : Yeah sharing the powerlevel might be a good idea. :)
Power does seem to be a problem there. Too much and it'll make the other wishes less used :p
It does also mean teams with less players get more of a pl boost heh

Reptile : Power is still a good wish to have. I did think about other wishes and couldn't think of a better one (do you have any suggestions? :] ) and what do you mean the beam spamming would be a problem?

what i meant was that the gamemode in its way is fun to play, but i dont ever see it properly work in a game that is based on ki attacks, i´ll give a exsample.
2 guys are collecting db´s third one of that team is gonna hide in a spot with a fully charged kame, waiting for an opponent to try to get a db, and this person would keep on blasting into the gatherd dragonballs, so that no one can get close, thats just one flaw i can see in this mode, and there probally would be more

how about a invunrability from beams when making a wish then?

so they would have to smash you out of the way to stop you from making a wish :laff:

its a crude solution but it would work...

Hmm yeah i see the problem there..
They will prolly spam the location of the dragonballs (like they can do now)
But unlike the current mode you will want your team mate to make the wish so your team *should* try to protect you (or you protect them) from things like beam spamming or melee attacks.
Or you have one team mate kill the spammer, or spammer(s) while another makes the wish.
There isn't really any other way because its a general flaw with ctdb mode :/
So teamwork really....

:) just thought of something, just make de dragonballs scatter when a beam impacts near them :D that would solve that litle problem :smile:

that would make guarding and attacking a hell of a lot harder and a victory that much more well deserved :laff:

i can almost see a vegeta shooting a bigbang attack towards 7 dragonballs and 1 guy about to make a wish, "Die! fools!!" then a gohan that is throwing himself in the line of fire to intercept the bigbang attack so his teammates will be able to complete the wish

Well gathering the dragonballs will take some time. So the wishes need to be worthy of the time. (and they need to be about equal in choice)
There wouldn't be much point in reviving one person because when the round is over and all of your team or the other team is dead , everyone is respawned.
I only included that otherwise some people could be waiting a very very long time.
Perhaps 3 random revives instead of a full team revive?


Reptile : Yeah shooting the dragonballs to scatter them would work well for the offense. I spose the sollution to beam spamming against the dragonballs area would be "teamwork" as i said lol. :rolleyes:
But i think if beams are gonna hurt you when trying to make a wish, then melee shouldn't.
Otherwise there will be too much "you have awakened the dragon and so you will be granted- er goku dude, someone just meleed your ass again..."
(that should encourage more people to beam the person with the dragonballs, thus more people will try powerstruggle it? ^_^)

Main problem I see...
1 team dominates the other, gets the balls, gets a bunch of PL boosts. (For example's sake, let's say it's 4 on 4). So each person on that team gets 250k. This goes on for several rounds, dominating dominating, getting the dragonballs. Soon one team is full of SSJ's, and the other is full of people who couldn't even beat the normal characters. I mean, Gohan/Trunks take what? 350k to ascend? 5 people on the team, 2 rounds, and you've got an SSJ. If that team is already dominating, they'll dominate faster. And since people wouldn't respawn unless their entire team dies/round time end, one SSJ could take out the whole team. There would have to be some sort of forced PL equalizer, or a respawn every 10 or so seconds. Like DoD, where they respawn in waves.

well dont forget that you still gain pl for the regular things like damage dealt

I like this idea, and think it would be a fine game mode

Maybe make half damage for eveything in CTDB mode.

I see what your saying, although brim is mostly right. To win your team will just have to play harder.
As for pl disadvantage what would you say to a small .100 or .150 pl gain on respawn? I mean its not gonna be spammed since you have to wait for spawn time :)
And as for spawn time i would not like people to be auto spawned in every 10 secs
1. it defeats the point of this mode
2. people wouldnt need to wish and revive people
3. your team will respawn once everyone on your team is defeated thus ending that round.
Also you said about gohan and trunks assending quick. I could see a team of trunks or gohan being used just because they assend quickly
Maybe the cv for class limit (e.g 2 gohans max) should be a must for this mode?


Orbit : yeah i thought either half damage or more health. Both might be a bit too much.
At the moment 1 kamehameha is a kill or a near kill to someone with 100 health.
So it'll take 4 or 5 kamehameha hits if you have about 400 health.
And if someone was hit with 4 fully charged kamehameha in the show i think they would be dead XD
I know life time needs to be high so people don't die too quickly, but it also can't be too high or people will be waiting to spawn too long. :p
Im sure if the team added this mode they could come to some arrangement on ideal health, but +300 health sounds like a good number to me.
Oh yes glad you liked the 3 revives idea ^_^

well if everyone gets +300 hp i think melee should be stronger
cause now a melee hit causes about 25 damage or something around that
the new melee system wouldnt be much stronger i guess
i think melee should deal bout 60% more damage or else melee is almost useless

Melee will obviously not be as strong as firing a full powered beam, but beams drawbacks are they can be dodged/blocked/swatted.
If melee was 60% stronger this mode would not last long at all since melee is based on combos.
This mode needs to consist of longer round times and nothing should bring your health down *that* quickly.
Not sure how long it takes to kill someone with 1.2 melee , but from videos it looks like it can be done very quick if they dont manage to dodge much (can a beta tester say roughly how long it can take to kill someone please ? :S)
