Description
Name: Callisto Devilreaver
Race: Human
Ki Colour: Once blue, now red
Height: 6â3â
Weight: 80kg (including weaponry)
Age: 22
Eyes: Piercing crystal blue
Hair: Knee length, the colour of blood and fire.
Body Build: Slim, little visible muscle.
Skin Tone: Pale, no blemishes.
Clothing: A long black coat with swirling colours on the surface, giving the impression that there is a consciousness within it. Underneath he wears a plain red t-shirt and a gold and leather belt. He also wears jeans of brown denim and demonhide boots.
Distinguishing Features: Has a curved scar along his left forearm, a dagger wound.
Weapons: A long, straight sword forged of black steel with a silver edge, previously wielded by a demon.
Fighting Style: Callisto practices the twin arts of Tae Kwon Do and Swordplay, combining them and including elements of Wushu into a new breed of martial arts which relies on finesse rather than strength or power. Small amounts of natural ki are used to empower attacks, making them stronger without having to lose speed due to muscle mass, however, this can make Callisto weary if used repeatedly over a long time.
Attitude: Not as emotionally cold as his appearance may suggest, Callisto is open-minded and willing to converse...but is untrusting and wary of strangers.
Faction: VVU.
Theme Song: Nightwish - Planet Hell

History:
A simple swordsman, Callisto trained under his Master for 2 years alongside many other students. As his skill grew he became famed within his village. This caught the unwanted attention of the peoples of the land. He was challenged to several duels, many of which he was forced or blackmailed into. After winning on numerous occasions, his legend inevitably grew, leading to more attention.
It was around then he met a striking woman called Kaleth. He promised himself not to let his feelings for her get in the way of his training, but found himself drawn to her inexplicably. When swearing to spend his free time practicing the deadly arts, he always ended up with her, sometimes not even aware of what he was doing. Over time he became lax and his skills began to diminish, but he never noticed. This proved to be a fatal mistake.
One day, a swordsmans competition was held in a neighboring village. Kaleth urged Callisto to participate, and her word became gospel and Callisto obeyed. The rules were simple: First blood. Callisto defeated his first opponent effortlessly. His second proved more troublesome, evading many sluggish attacks. It was a closecut round, but Callisto triumped.
The third opponent was unlike anything he had ever faced, barely deflecting one hit before another came into play. It was at this point he noticed how sloppy he'd become. For fear of losing face in front of Kaleth, Callisto put his own life on the line, and narrowly avoided decapitation just to get a weak spot to attack. Leaning back just enough to allow his enemies blade to pass over him, he blindly lunged and nicked his opponents cheek with his blade, spilling a single drop of blood on the stone floor. Victory.
However, this was not the end. Humiliated by losing to an imperfect technique, the man charged at Callisto with his blade out, but Callisto was ready for this retribution and moved to one side, allowing the man to slide pass him. Callisto brought his sword down on the mans back, gashing him across the spine. Red blood rapidly turned black as the man deformed and lost control. He became larger and leathery. Horns sprouted from his head and his eyes glowed crimson. A pair of wings erupted from the new wound. With a roar, he created a portal to Hell, grabbed Kaleth and jumped through. Callisto, without thinking, followed.
Atop a rock, Callisto found the demon who was still losing blood, limply holding his sword. As he was about to bring his sword down on the beast, a voice commanded him not to. Kaleth forced herself between them, a dagger in her hand. red feathered wings sprouting from her back. She explained that she was a succubus sent to ensnare Callisto to bring him to Hell to fight for the demon K'rah'tha'lath for an assault on Heaven. She told him he could not kill her master, and that he would not leave knowing this. She slashed at him, causing him the first true pain he'd ever felt, the pain of a broken heart, to which the pain of the physical wound was insignificant.
Callisto was the better warrior, but was unwilling to kill Kaleth. He parried the dagger, knocking it out of her hands. He then dropped his sword and grabbed the bases of her wings, tearing them from their sockets. He told her they could slay the demon and return to Earth to live normal lives as humans. She told him it was too late, and that he should finish her as she lay so that she would not be manipulated to fight him again. Before he could come to terms with it all, Kaleth slumped to the floor, a black knife protruding from the back of her head. The demon was now on his feet, one arm outstretched, the other firmly grasping his black steel blade.
The malestrom of conflicting emotions building within Callisto cleared. He unsheathed his silver longsword and dashed at the demon, who was anticipating the attack. As he brought down his sword, Callisto went down and slid between the demons legs, his sword to one side, severing the Demon's calf muscles. The demon dropped his sword in astonishment, eyes open wide in shock, as his leg buckled, unable to hold his own weight. He crashed to the floor, tasting the hot coals for a second before Callisto brought his own sword down on the back of the demon's neck allowing it's head to roll down the large plateu. Was it over? No. The demons death caused the portal to seal, trapping Callisto in Hell.
As the shadows closed in on him, Callisto discovered he expended little energy in this realm. He picked up the deceased demon's dark blade and fought endlessly against the hordes of gibbering imps and creatures of darkness. Each death giving him renewed strength as he painted himself in tides of black and crimson blood, the light growing ever dimmer...
An unknown amount of time later, Callisto appeared at the top of a mountain back on Earth. He struggled down to find his villiage had been reduced to ruin and vegetation had regrown all over it. He made his way over to a lake and examined his new reflection. His hair had become permanantly dyed with demonblood and had grown past his waist. He did not appear to have aged. His boots were now made of rough hide though he never recalled replacing the leather ones he always wore. He was also wearing a long coat made seemingly of shadow, the demons black sword sheathed beneath it. His dull blue eyes were now radiant, accustomed to the dark. He appeared to have been desensitized to the mindless slaughter he incurred in Hell.
Had he won his freedom or did he really become a fighter for the Devil? There was no-one left to answer these questions, and so Callisto began to walk to the eternal road of life...
Techniques:
Ki Empowerment: Combining spiritual energy with natural ability allows for faster, stronger attacks. However this can only be used sparingly.
Bane of the Blade: Callisto slashes rapidly in pairs, the second slash moves so fast that it gives the illusion of two swords, giving the defender no idea as to which is the real one, meaning a 50/50 chance of blocking the real sword.
Edgewind: Spinning around rapidly while using ki to boost speed and changing the level and angle of the sword constantly, the illusion of a tornado of razors is created. This is an aggressive defence.
Tactical Thinking: Due to the malleable style of fighting Callisto uses, he can use the area around him to his advantage during battle. This includes (but is not limited to) jumping off of walls and similar surfaces, throwing nearby objects and blinding his opponent with sand or dust.
Devilreaver Slice: After succesfully dodging an attack, Callisto follows up with a strong attack to a weak spot, crippling the opponent.
Eight Cardinals: Circling the opponent with great speed, Callisto can appear to be in up to eight places at once. Using multiple slashes, the area within the illusions of Callisto is filled with flying blades that are barely visible to the naked eye.
Vision Of Hell: (Fatality) When and If an opponent has been defeated, Callisto decapitates his opponent and slides their head along the blade in one swift, fluid motion, he then fires a ki blast at it, sending it into the Sun.
Callisto Devilreaver, while not unbeatable, is a man to be reckoned with. Though the term 'man' no longer seems suitable as what shreds of humanity within his soul are too deeply buried in darkness. He knows nothing of mercy. He knows nothing of fear.
