facebook just bought it and want to use it for virtual communication , social playing and other stuffs

http://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-to-buy-oculus-rift-for-2-billion-2014-3

there is a contract that they payed ths month 400 million in cash and in next months comes the rest

BTW reminds me of Metal gear solid VR mission virtual training and stuff

could be use for military training!

p.s dont worry its still for PC gamers buyable (no consoles ) mark zuckerberg wants to expand it for the normal person in normal life

example:like building a new virtual school system which would mean we dont need a school laboratory for test or something like that

remember that current side effect of VR is realistig loss and dayvisions

ps.2 original developers still contribute the OR but the rights go to FACEBOOK

I don't blame the guys behind it. If someone offered me $2 billion I'd probably take it. That doesn't change the fact that I'm incredibly unthrilled by the prospect of Facebook being behind this, so I'll probably get one of the 100+ off-brand VR machines that'll start popping up sooner or later.

The original people are still running Occulus

I think the purpose behind the FB buy out is to go beyond games.

Otherwise there's Project Morpheus, ALL HAIL KING SONY

mark zuckerberg stated microsoft and sony wont be a match for future PC gaming anymore
"In order to build a really big computing platform, there are a bunch of important use cases that you need to support. … We’ve measured this more with mobile, but what we see is that about 40 percent of the time that people spend overall is in gaming. And about 40 percent is also spent in social communications. About half of that is in Facebook, which is nice.
What we basically believe is that unlike the Microsoft or Sony pure console strategies, if you want to make this a real computing platform, you need to fuse both of those things together."

P.S mark zuckerberg announced to buy next year "The Virtualizer" (paying with even more sharessale then he bought with occulus)
mark zuckerberg brings gaming into a new generation the reality gaming!

those who dont know what the virtualizer is here the homepage: http://www.cyberith.com/de/news for videos check youtube
this fantastic VR plattform created from german students owning a company called Cyberith creating for 3 years VR projects

this is what olc occulus rift owners twitted:

p.s 2 those people who fonded the project wont get their money back due new contracts

If mark zuckerberg isn't going to start a hardcore gaming company, this will be worthless, what, he would have all the power of this technology and not use it for hardcore gaming? and if he does he needs to start his own video game company (not this farmville shit)

Also those cybernith shit looks way more hardcore than that occulus rift, I would seriously want to buy this kind of shit (I always wanted to play hardcore action games with my actual body rather than the joystick, getting a workout and actually feel the strain on you will be ******* awesome)

according to facebook FB page and the article then the right and the object belongs to facebook now only the former devs still remain the development and controll of it , still the order comes from another guy now... YES the Valve VR expert "michael abrash" left Valve and joined the occulus rift project and took a job as THE ONLY chief VR scientist

according to the official website occulus rift wont need a login(facebook) or any internet connection to play games

This is actually could be an awesome minigame - you just mark which persons you hate and the simulator creates a character of them based on the picture and you just go and shoot people you hate with the OCULUS VR.

I mean, imagine the possibilities - torture, shooting them and much much more...

If only Mark Zuckerberg that jewish prick will have the guts..

At my computer.
I don't understand how this is supposed to fit into FaceBooks strategy. I mean it seems pretty silly. I don't know how a VR headset could actually benefit a social website in any way.
