you think of (for example) 8. then add 3. is 11...then after a while you have to do 11-8... = 3...so you actually never calculated the 8. the program that made you count starts with 0. becuz in the end..you are practically doin the same. so there.

Its a simple math trick that has you undoing what you originally do.
It doesn't always work..
sometimes because of human error..plus there are certain situations where it just doesn't work at all.

A fun little trick for 3rd graders..
but I've seen it too many times to be impressed at all.
