hey, when i installed it and everything in the hl folder it says, steam.dll was not found when i try to play esf 1.1:cry:

That would be for steam, not HL. Do you have CS 1.6? did you install to the wrong dir?
Try re-intsalling ESF. If that dosnt do it, try all of halflife.
