I played the F2P version and it's still not good. You have to really like Star Wars to bother with it.

TOR flopped. The game lost so many subs the second month, it wasn't even funny. And it has now gone the path every other MMO that flops has.

You wouldn't consider WoW to be a flop, would you? Because that'd be impossible. YET SW:TOR is MUCH more fun than WoW and it looks better doing it. It felt very much like an action game. As a warrior wielding two light-sabers I was running, killing, FLYING across the battlefield to my next opponents, using force powers and advanced acrobatics, etc etc... I think the reason why all the MMO's "flop" now a days is because people are no longer willing to pay X amount of dollars every month, because people are more educated now in the fact that they know once they've grown attached to their character that they are screwed and will not be able to stop paying for the game so easily. So people have begun to STAND UP for themselves and refuse to pay monthly fees. I think it's great, personally... ALL of these games should be F2P with perks for pay. Skyrim cost me 59.99 and last me like 140+ hours, I can't get that kind of value from an MMO with monthly fees.

But anyways ISN'T IT RIDICULOUS how video game companies review MMO's like 1 month after launch and then people assume that the game is ALWAYS going to be that crappy?
Another ridiculous thing is that EVERY NEW MMO usually at least TRIES to be subscription based WHEN IT'S IN IT'S CRAPPIEST STATE IT WILL EVER BE IN developmentally speaking.

If they were making, say, $1,000 a month from it, the smallest possible exponent you could apply to it, e.g, 1,000^2, would still be 1,000,000? That's a lot.

And assuming they were making more, from all the SW fans who paid for it on release day, e.g, 10,000 bucks, that's a ridiculous 100,000,000 from F2P at the very least!

Plus, yeah, sure, WoW was popular. Who do you personally know who plays that game? It went F2P till Lvl 20 because they wanted more players because the company was suffering. It was early on in the game of MMORPGs. It took the market before Joe's RPG could get there, later Joe's Generic RPG game gets crushed out of the market by WoW. It's as simple as that.

Therefore, yes, WoW is indeed a flop. It's not good gameplay. It's not interesting story. You'd only play that to talk to your friends, or if you were really, really bored.

The real question is who have you known who has EVER played WoW? the answer? LOTS of people(and they got HOOKED on it). Personal friends and family. There used to be stories in the news about people murdering others over something they did in WoW. That's why I used to call it "World of Warcrack".... So you can't assume that it's current state is at all indicative of the pinnacle of it's success. What goes up MUST COME DOWN! But also, what was once DOWN had to come UP to BE up, you understand what I'm saying? SW:TOR is on the RISE, son! Don't step to this!

Your logic has more holes than a piece of swiss cheese under heavy machine gun fire. Kudos for trying though, but what you didn't realize is you were attempting to cross sabers with Yoda here.

P.S. There were very FEW games in the history of gaming to be truly Cross-Platform. I believe Phantasy Star Blue Burst was one of them AS WELL AS Final Fantasy 11. I think it's because the PC will always offer superior advantages in combat over using a controller. But yeah Multi-platform is the term that's always been generally used in the gaming industry to imply that it's ONE game that will be released on MULTIPLE consoles. I'm telling you this because back when people played the Playstation 1, and the Nintendo 64, this was unheard of. It only really started happening with the original XBOX and PS2, hence why they created a term for it.
