...they're called "voice actors" because they're talented at adapting their voices and using them to create a convincing character, yes. That's exactly why Funimation's actors don't count.
YOU are the one who doesn't know much. There is no censorship law against using the word "kill", "die", or "death", but Funimation cut out all those terms. There is no law against speaking of Heaven or Hell, but Funimation cut out all references and replaced them with "the next dimension". There is no law against smoking and drinking on cartoons, but Funimation cut those out too. There is no law against an ungodly amount of things Funimation cuts, but they do it because they can.
Don't pin the ignorant label on me until you're sure it can't stick to you as well.
Edit: More examples of censorship, because I am both really angry and disappointed with you, Yokie...
They cut Gohan's tears from the first scene in which Raditz appears. His tears are kept in afterwards.
When killing people, Nappa and Vegeta always add a sentence saying how they "got away" or "evacuated" or "used their parachutes", even though it was clear that they died. Vegeta says "It's a good thing it's Sunday and those buildings will be empty!"
The bodies of those killed by the Saiyans vanish. In the Japanese version, they remain there.
When Piccolo is killed in the Japanese version it's a very dramatic moment. Funimation dubbed through it as quickly as they could to move on to the action.
In the Japanese version, Guldo's body is decapitated and left on the ground. In the Funimation dub, his body vanishes - however, later on you can see Guldo's corpse on the ground again when Dende finds the bodies.
They cut out some lines in the show and leave in the replies to the lines they cut out.
They gave Frieza a female as a voice actor. Not in the same way that Goku has a female voice actor in Japan - to show that he's an innocent child at heart - and I should add that they also made him homosexual. They gave him lines like "Whatever turns you on, big boy" and "We could have been so good together." Isn't this the OPPOSITE of censoring? Why did they ADD homosexual lines for Frieza?
They inexplicably censor blood in some parts, leave it in in others, and have a mixture of censored and uncensored blood in scenes. Blood is not 'illegal' under US laws.
In the first two sagas, all mention of the term "death" is not allowed, nor are MILD curse words like "hell" and "damn". Those are allowed by USA laws, Yokie, I'm sure. Instead they are replaced with ancient curse words that haven't been used since the Emancipation Proclamation.
They change the reason for Vegeta turning Super Saiyan and why he was truly possessed by Babidi. How the hell is this abiding to the laws of USA censorship, and not them just being idiots?
You may not care about this and decide to stick with your inane "Funimation is just trying to get along in a cruel, unhelpful world" line, but if you do that's none of my business. But you damn well better not tell me I know nothing.
