How would I disable the graphic card that my computer came with so I can free up some memory and use my new graphics card? My Mother Board came with an integrated S4 Savage 3 32MB Ram graphics card, and I bought a GeForce 4 MX 440 PCI 64 MB Ram graphics card. How do I disable the integrated S4 Savage 3 32MB Ram graphics card? Please Respond. Oh yeah, I have Windows XP Home Edition.

thanx

All you have to do is right click on my computer and properties. Go to the hardware tab, then device manager, then scroll down to display adapters, expand the list by hitting the plus, right click on the savage card and click disable. Be sure to restart.

:(...Before I disabled it, it had a yellow excamation mark, I guess that means that it was having some conflicts. Now that I disabled it, it had a red x, but when I right click on My Computer, and select Properties, it says that I have 224 MB or Ram. So I uninstalled the S3 drivers, rebooted, and it STILL says 224 MB of Ram...WHY!?...

ok, did you read the manual that came with the card? You need to install the card, install the driver, and use the vga port on the back of the card.

OK, I forgot to say, when I uninstalled the S3 driver, and restarted, it said new hardware found and automatically installed it, so this time I just disabled it, and restarted, and yes, my moniter is plugged into the moniter slot the nVidia came with...

Hmm...my GTAIII is kinda laggy, but before I reformated my computer, it was running great, and before I reformated, I had a couple of viruses and very little space left. But before I reformated my computer, hardware specialists inserted and installed the drivers. Oh well...please try to help...

try using the geforce tweaker at www.guru3d.com. I had the same problem, you need to adjust the minimaps in the d3d tab i think, or at least tweak it till you find out whats wrong. Remeber, gtaIII is d3d, not opengl.
