Dedicated Server?

Anyone knows how to put up a dedicated server? The Dedicated Server Tool that's with Steam only supports DoD / Half-Life, Counter-Strike, etc.

You need to install the Server pack. It installs into steamapps\email\dedicated server

What game specifically?

Remember, make sure your ports are open to allow people to join

Don't use the HLDS that comes with Steam.

Download HLDS from here. Install it somewhere, and run the executable from the command line as per the readme's fairly straightforward instructions. Basically, you're going to update the game valve to get the base HL content, then install ESF into your HLDS folder and run HLDS with it.

You need to install the esf 1.2.3 server pack

The "server pack" is just the normal install minus client-side files you won't need while running a dedicated server. It's not absolutely required; the normal install will work fine too.

If you're running HLDS in console mode (you should be), you just add the flag -game esf to your HLDS launch along with all your other switches. So you'll have something like:

C:\HLServer\hlds.exe -console -game esf +port 27015 +map esf_city +hostname "Bob Dole's Super Awesome Server!" +maxplayers 16

...along with any other flags you want.

Only exe file i found is "HldsUpdateTool.exe".
