Ok, this whole subject has pissed me off on many occasions, first off lets say you have a question about something, and you use the search button but the threads dont really clear up your question, if you post in the thread you get flamed for bringing back dead topics, if you make a new thread about it, you get flamed for making a thread about something that has been brought up before, which is the less of the two evils? Also, there are times when mod's close threads saying that they are dead when they aren't...point in case, one of my threads I had in off topic (which was a pretty fun thread) got closed by a mod (not saying who but he's a respectable one) and he said dont bring back dead topics, when first off the whole topic wasn't even a month old, and there were at least 7 posts within the week. What is up with that? I even sent him a PM like I am supposed to and I recieved no reply, thats just shady. So whats the deali yo? (what's the de de de deali yo deali yo, what's the de de de deal deal, what's the de de de deali you deali yo what's the de de de deal?)

The search dosn't really help cos if I searchedfor 'bind' it would come up with all the topics with the word bind in so if someone said 'I'm in a bit of a bind' then it would give me that!

none of this stuff happens so asking what if is pointless it might happen like 1 time in 2000 posts but thats not what the majority of it is

bringing old topics back for the sake of it isnt not allowed and it is what happens

You still haven't asnwered my question Hibi, which would a mod rather see, a new thread that has been posted a few times before, or an old one brought back? I wasn't ranting but thanks anyways, sometimes it takes detail to get your point through. Rather than make fun of me how about an answer?

honestly, if an old topic doesn't answer your question, and you create a thread to ask that question (which gets closed for bringing back a dead thread) is it really that good of a question? All the old topics lived a good life so if it was closed (other than to do with flaming ans spam) then it's just not worth the hassle of bringing it back.

And i'll have you know OWA that Hib earned his smod the hard way, not by being a turd to everyone on the forum. And .FM, you haven't really said anything of value so nothing you say, imo, can in all honesty shouldn't be considered or disputed YOU try dealing with 500 users posting daily.

Ok, Brim. If a thread is THAT old, that we'd close it for posting in it and declaring it dead, then it would probably be better to create a new thread, since most will probably forget the topic was brought up earlier. At the very worst, a moderator/admin will answer your question, and then close the thread.
