When using Dash/traveling at high speeds, there should be a motion blur. This idea originated from someone else, and was supposed to affect people being hit (after you were hit, the screen would become blurry to emulate high speeds). Because dash is now in the game, and is basically a sprint, I think it would be a pretty good idea to give the player the feeling of traveling very quickly.

The team will probably add something like this anyway when the fx system is up and running, but I thought I'd suggest it anyway.

That's interesting. You could always contact VALVe and ask what could be causing the VAC ban.

We did. To use motion blur you need an open GL wraper.

So you need a DLL file. Sadly that file is also ussed with lots of hacks.

So we got denied >.<

I think the team was toying with the idea of some kind of radial blur that might not need a wrapper though, weren't they? Or would even that require a wrapper? Also, whatever became of the idea for FOV adjustments during swoop? Always thought it could be kinda neat. (Imagine like in JKII when you use force speed)

I already have code in ESF to do effects such as motion blur... In the case of ESF, we don't have to add any additional dlls. The main issue is that the overhead of the motionblur can make quite a difference FPS wise, so I decided to only use it in cinematic sequences (like transformation fx).
