early normal bake test, got some issues i need to straighten out.

that's how i want the hair to look (style wise) when it's all done. other than that it's just a straight screenshot from max viewport with a normalmap only. no diffuse or spec or anything.

Seems like his face is too long, and too sad.

Eyes look too high and too large. The shape of his ear is wonky. Forehead might be too short.

thanks for the feedback guys. made a couple of changes.

please bear in mind the hair/beard texture are just an underlay, the rest will be done with alpha planes.

That's certainly a major improvement. Forehead still appears to need a little work though. I would imagine making old people is tricky, what with the wrinkles and whatnot.

Especially in those hard to reach places.

There still seems to be quite a bit of distance between the eyes and the lips. It looks a tad odd.

The eye-to-nose distance and the nose-to-tip-of-chin distance seem a bit too long. Gives him a very stretched out face and make the proportions look off.



Tried to do a little 'draw' over. Still not perfect, but proportions look a lot better.
