1. MilkShape 3D - You are entitled to a 31 day trial before you have to register.
2. Half-Life Model Viewer (Optional)http://www.wunderboy.org/download.php?file=hlmv13_setup.zip&s=1 - Use this to ensure that your models don't screw up while in different animations.
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING: Create two folders. In the first folder, put the .mdl of the ESF 1.1 model you want to convert (e.g. SSJ2 Gohan) and in the second folder put the .mdl file of the corresponding ESF 1.2 model (e.g. SSJ Gohan)
Step 1: Decompile the model you wish to convert from ESF 1.1x to ESF 1.2x (e.g. SSJ2 Gohan from ESF 1.1)
Path: Tools -> Half-Life -> Decompile Normal HL MDL File
Step 2: Decompile the corresponding model from ESF 1.2x (e.g. SSJ Gohan from ESF 1.2.3)
You will have to do this because you are going to take out certain things from SSJ Gohan and move them to SSJ2 Gohan.
Step 3: Copy ALL files from the second folder (the folder with the ESF 1.2 SSJ Gohan) once the model is decompiled.
Step 4: Paste ALL files in the first folder (the folder with the ESF 1.1 SSJ2 Gohan)
IMPORTANT: When asked "Replace ____?" Select NO every time it asks. I suggest you hold down the "N" key until it stops asking you.
Step 5: Go to your second folder and open your model's .QC file (eg. ssjgohan.qc) and scroll down until you see: // 2xx sequence (It should be some number in the 200s).
Copy EVERYTHING from that point all the way to the bottom of the file.
Step 6: Go to your first folderl and open your model's .QC file (eg. ssj2gohan.qc) and scroll down until you see: // 1xx sequence (It should be some number in the 100s)
Highlight and delete everything there and then paste. All the //1xx sequences and everything below should now be //2xx sequences with everything below.
Step 7: Open MilkShape 3D and Re-compile the model's QC file (eg. ssj2gohan.qc)
Path: Tools -> Half-Life -> Compile QC File then double-click on the ESF 1.1 model's qc file to compile it. (eg. ssj2gohan.qc)
CONGRATULATIONS!
You have successfully converted an ESF 1.1 model to ESF 1.2! All you have to do now is move the .mdl file to your ESF folder. You can delete EVERYTHING else.
HL Model Viewer will open all ESF .MDL (model) files. You can then see how the model looks under different animations.
