Console Crashing

I have been playing ESF many times burning serval hours(and days) of time bofore but after my com. kinda ****ed up and had to reinstall some stuff.. i came back to play one of my favorite past times... well unfortunatly my esf crashes.... the main menu works find able to select form any of the choices including searching for places to play... but when i attept to join a game or click console after it says loading i get a blue screen of death and it closes esf... every time... I checked all the video modes and updated my drives and windows and still unable to play. The error said this

A Fatal exception 0E has occured at 002844355A
in VXD Asp4Wave(01) + 0001455A

hit any button to close blah blah blah

I was considering of reformating my computer, could anyone give me some sugestions or something that could fix this problem?

Ouch, blue screens are never good. You might only need to re-install Half-Life or esf, but i would keep it safe and just re-format, it's not good to keep messing around and constantly get blue screens. My advice is to reformat as quick as possible so nothing happens to your computer. Fatal exceptions = bad.

Bad news.... like i reformated my com... all the errors i had when i logged on are gone thats good.... but after i reinstalled everything esf is still performing that error.....

can anyone help me with this problem... the game i have installed are jk2, d2, starcraft, dod, ns, cs, tfc, dmc, richochet, and esf all drives and windows are updated..

i should also add that ns performs this same error after the console, when it should display the game.

i really want to play this game again... HELP!!! *cries*

Well give us the specs of your computer, video card, and tell us your video options of ESF. We might be able to help you from there, but that's still odd. Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX, and that all of your windows critical updates are installed. for now, that's all i can think of.

i found some sort of bug or something... well anyways i managed to play esf once again... but i only managed to do so by installing an older vr. and upgrading it. the error i think is involing the mp3 function
one i upgraded esf i checked to see if it was functioning... and so it did. I happy blah blah but then after i changed the playlist with my out mp3's. Then trying to connect once again it performs the old error... strange i think but what ever it is im not touching the mp3's for now on.
