I actually somewhat blame the person that started the contest / moderated it, the leader of it.
There should have been stricter rules, such as only people making a tien would be allowed to post, and if they wanted crits then they could have made their own thread.
There also should have been individual contests for the model / skin, sounds, sprites, and whatever else there was.
1.) If only people MAKING a tien could post the thread would have died about 24 hours after it started.
2.) They had the freedom to make their own thread if they chose to do so, but if I forced them to abandon the primary Tien thread for criticism the thread would have died about 12 hours after it started.
3.) There was a sound pack contest that ran alongside the modeling contest and you couldn't have a SKINNING contest without first selecting a finished MODEL, so it just made more sense for modellers to find their own damn skinners, which many didn't do, and those who did found lazy or busy skinners.
So before you start blaming ME for (God forbid) trying to bring the community together in one thread to do something that
they wanted to do, take a look at what happened in that thread (which I bumped twice after the community bogged out). I would love to see someone actually finish a Tien. I love Tien. I can't model, I can't skin, all I can do is encourage the community by offering them little prizes like Groovy is attempting with the forum contests.
Guys if you really want to feel free to go ahead and finish your Tiens. I somehow doubt anyone will, but if you did there's still a fairly good chance it would get into 1.3 . If you would like to finish yours, please don't procrastinate much longer.
Edit- Incase anyone has noticed I haven't been around much at all lately it's because I'm in the process of moving into a new home and finding a job and all that comes associated with that.
