When i try and play esf on-line, it says that my cd-key is not valid with valve games. What is it that i have to do to be able to play on-line? would i have to go out and buy another Half-life cd and start over?

I have the same problem.
Is it an original key, a key that you got from the shop?
If it is, i'm sorry.

?, anyways if you have a copied version or something like that then it may be the cause of the problem.

well, if you bough the game its valvs problem(turn to them)
if u didnt, then there are two options:
1)you took it off a cd-keygenerater=wont work on the net
2)it means that someone has your cd-key O_O

If you bought the copy of Half-Life and the CD-Key has been taken, then someone who downloaded Half-Life generated and used your CD-Key. This situation disgusts me, I would say e-mail Valve about this, they may supply you with a new CD-Key.

1) Do not talk about warz on these forums.

2) The only way you can play half life online is if you BUY the game in a store. It only cost around $20 because it is like 5 years old:S
