I seem to be having problems with a farely new CDR I've been using. I'm on Nero 6, and whenever I burn any CD, I get a "Focus or Tracking' error. While burning audio CDs, most of the songs are successfully burnt, while a couple do not work on the player, in fact, the CD I just burnt, only 1 song does not play. It always happens at the very end of the process, no matter what I'm burning.
The burner is a 52x24x52, I've tried downing the Write Speed to 8x, and I still get the same error. I have a hard time believing it's faulty since it's practicly brand new. There does not seem to be a brand name on it, I know there is one on the underside of the burner, but I can't get into my computer until tomorrow.
By the way Cuc, your input would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Do you run any program while burning? Personally Ive had the same problem happen to me before, but thats because I ignored the message that said "It is advised you do not run any programs while burning." One time I tried turning everything off and burning, and everything worked fine. So if you run any other programs while burning, you should try turning them off.

The only program I had running is Trillian, I'll try burning it again without it, but I'm quite certain I have tried it without anything running before.

yea its the programs things prolly, i used to have that allt he time but i got a tdk dvd burner and havent had that problem since lol, but yea just try turning off each program (or anything unecesary) and burn the cd, then if it still persists then just turn off a few things at a time and find out what program(s) is is causing the problem. it also might be the CD-r" dsics your using. what brand are you using? i suggest fuji, i always use those

EDIT: o u posted before i finished mine lol. hmmm ill look around and see what i can find

Close all user programmes via the alt-ctrl-del, a lot of nasty prog's lurk in there ;) , then try it again. I am pretty shure that the writing speed isn't a problem, since the whole CD woulden't work, if it was one.
