cannont create a lan game

the error it keeps posting is that the library cannnot load up file ..... client.dll do i need a new file or wat ?

yes you have to use steam, I think if you have won then you can create a lan game, I used to do it, btu rather use steam, because then you can also play online.

The WON network was shut down a looong time ago. Valve now uses Steam to network it's multiplayer. If you want to play online, you must use Steam. Steam is also a much more stable network, and is far better for servers, even if you're just hosting a LAN.

i also had the same problem saying cannot load client.dll or something like that and all i had to do was borrow one of my freinds client.dlls from msn :p

Hmm, I don't see why there would be such a problem. Try re-installing your ESF, don't try to ghetto it, and get it from a friend. Make sure you are running ESF 1.2.3 and if you install correctly, there should not be a problem.

ESF is intended for steam use only. You can get it to work on won but chanes are very slim & won is very buggy as it is, so just create a steam account and register your copy of hl.
