Animals are also far less capable of higher thought, making a crime against humanity far more meaningful and hurtful to me. As for pictures and videos, there's tons of **** out there if you need some torture porn to get you impacted to the max. I know I'm coming off as antagonistic, but it strikes me as absurd how much we care for animals and how little we care for each other. I'm not speaking about you specifically. Western culture seems obsessed with making sure animals are comfortable while at the same time ******* over entire populations of their own species. It blows my mind is all.

It's a nurturing instinct, stepping up for those who can't speak for themselves.

But animals aren't babies because they can not speak and are dependent of a human....Unless they are baby animals. Animals can be dangerous, expensive, dirty, etc. so they are far from being pure beings in a human society.

If you take a bullet for a rabbit, it'll probably hop away to get eaten by a fox the next day, or maybe even nibble on your corpse. Take a bullet for a human and they would (hopefully) be grateful for you and remember that you did that for the rest your life.

The argument that animals deserve more sympathy to pain/suffering than humans is baffling...Like humans are naturally born with sin and animals are pure.

My sister is like this, and I nearly screamed at her.

We were talking about how she doesn't feel good lately and that the Doctors said nothing was wrong with her, she was *****ing about how much doctors charge, and I agreed they charge alot, but they provide a incredible service, even if pricey, it's your life, and that it's much more justified how much they charge & make, say, compared to famous celebrities making 20 million a movie, or sports stars signing 90 million dollar contracts. She wouldn't accept that.

Then she says "You know, if it was up to me, I'd make Veterinarians receive the kind of pay doctors do...she said "they do a more important job", and she said Social Service employee's should get Doctors pay too, as "they're the ones really helping people, sick & abused children, ect"

I was face palming so hard...those Social Service employees basically pick up kids and drop them off at Doctors, but regardless, she holds animals way above humans in most cases. It seems to run in the Family, my mother, and my other sister are like this. Once I was staying at my mothers, she cooks up a steak for her dog, a full Steak, New York Sirloin, and gives me frozen french fries and chicken. I didn't say anything, but I could not think "The hell..."(Steak wasn't bad or anything, was still before the exp date)

My other sister leaves the TV on all night because "her little joey can't sleep without the light of the TV" The ****? I was so angry, she was totally asleep, so I shut it off, I come down an hour later to find it back on, and she's still asleep. Just...gah. Also like when we have a roast or something and she comes over, she'll always make him a plate. She infact, wanted half my Steak before, which I would assume was for her, but no, she gives it to the dog. I told her next time she isn't getting any, and that when she is here, her dog will eat DOG FOOD. Human FOOD IS BAD FOR DOGS, their digestive system can't handle it, and I use some spices on mine, which is worse. Dogs can get very sick eating human food.

She buys like the 60$ Dog food instead of the 10$ stuff, and then complains about money. I really, really hate how so many women this days love their dogs so much. I like dogs, care about them, sure, but I am not going to treat them better than humans for no reason. Also, people like my sisters and such say they don't wanna have children, and that "We already have a dog...that's enough."

It's like they're replacing babies with dogs...I dunno. I just get so...frustrated I want to punch them, lol.

That doesn't mean I'd choose a human to be tortured, or put a human in an situation that they would suffer over an animal.

That's just plain silly. (actually, to be honest, it depends on the human, but for the major majority.. yeah, **** animals)

Yeah, no. Just like how some people can get sick from eating just about anything, it's the same with dogs. My dog ate only leftovers from what my family couldn't finish, and he lived to be 20 years and 4 months old. What's true for one dog might not be for the next one, just like with humans.

You'd be surprised. Fun little anecdote. 3 days after my brother got his Emergency Response Officer diploma, a guy gets a heart attack at my brother's work. My brother, 20 years old at the time, resuscitates said man and actually has to use one of those disposable defibrilators on the man's unshaven chest because time is running out for him. My brother ends up saving the man's life. You know the kicker here?

He wanted to die. He was a trucker, driving an 18-wheeler weighing in at about 25,000 kilograms over one of the busiest highways in the Netherlands. He took a load of pills that morning and had hoped to be dead the same day. Had he passed out while behind the wheel, he could killed a lot of people instead of just himself. He actually cursed out my brother for not letting him die, while he was in a hospital bed (how was he supposed to know? You're legally obligated to resuscitate if you can, anyway) and my brother has to live with the memory of some guy dropping down in front of him, his skin burned from and to the defibrilator, and having to give CPR to a man who now blames him for being alive.

tl;dr version: Humans aren't always as grateful as you'd expect.

Hello Esforces community! I greet you all from Romania - central Europe. I'm a new member to the forums but not to the esf mod. To be honest, I havn't played esf in years (is esf-world.net still running ?) but i do come here often to check the progres of the almighty ESF v1.3, and boy... the ESF DEVs are doing AMAIZING work with the hl 1 engine. Cheers for the ESF DEVs!

Now, to answer your "question". I can value in alot of cases the animal life above the human life ( don't get me wrong, I don't have my own species ). Why i think so, probably because animals don't have as much "evil" in them as (some)humans. Take a dog for example, if you open your heart to a dog so will the dog open it's heart twords you, unlike humans, it doesn't care if your rich or poor, over-weight or anorexic, ugly or beautifull, your skin color and such, it will love you! Animals are more "pure" if I may say so...
