I was just wondering, on dbz when someone dies they leave their body behind and they appear in otherworld right??

Then how come when the old kai gave goku his life, he grew a halo and stayed in his body?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I think it's because the Kai's planet is in the Other World but i'm not sure.

The planet is in the Other World, so he didn't actually go anywhere. Kais keep their bodies after death (as seen with King Kai), so they do not become a 'cloud' like the millions of inhabitants of Earth.

The Kais killed by Buu presumably did not keep their bodies because they were absorbed into Buu and trapped inside his being. The old Kai died 'naturally', and so he kept his body and remained in the Other World on the planet of the Kais.

But why the Ther Kais were not to see after Buu was back a Kid , Kid Buu?
In my Opinion they have to bee "spucked" (dont know in english ;P) out and then they are free like Fat Boo.

They'd been in his stomach for eons so I assume that they were completely digested or something.

In the saiyan saga, I noticed that Goku and Piccolo's body's just sort of faded away after they died. Was that censoring? Because Tien didn't fade away or anything, nor anyone else who died thereafter.

Just another confusing part of DBZ's un-planned plot I 'd say.

In the uncensored version, Yamcha left a corpse behind, and in Funi's he didn't... so it's possible Goku/Piccolo were just censored out. Because visible corpses make young children believe in zombies, or something.

I have no idea why Tien stayed there, though. Still, he'd been saying lines like "They're okay, I can see their parachutes!" when Nappa destroys the military jets in a scene that clearly has no survivors, and says "Just wait until it grows back!" when Nappa tears off his arm. He's like Funimation's Public Relations Officer. Back then, if Vegeta fired a Galit Gun on a group of puppies, Tien would be around to say "They're okay! I saw a group of happy orphans run in, scoop up the puppies and flee to safety just before the explosion!"

If kids thought Tien was actually DEAD, then maybe there were no parachutes! It's unthinkable. He's just sleeping, kids, don't worry!

Actually theres a reason for at least Goku's body disappearing. Kami, Guardian of Earth, took Goku's body to the otherworld so he could have it with him and train. That's how the Manga explains Goku having his body after death. Sure, the whole series goes on to defy this later but this is how the manga explains it.
