Blizzard or Westwood?

Westwood didn't make the RTS genre popular. Warcraft and warcraft 2 made the RTS genre popular. Blizzard is by far better now and always has been. The only westwood game I ever liked was Recoil.

Blizzard, definitely! Diablo 2 was the best game ever made IMO

And MC was right, Westwood didn't make Generals, EA did.
And EA did a really bad job on the netcode... :\

Blizzard, never played Diablo 2, but i'm waiting for Starcraft Ghost which is from Blizzard and it looks great. never really liked the C&C series anyway. tho Blade Runner was a great game

Is Starcraft Ghost the FPS one? I think I saw some cinematic movie for it a couple of years ago. I'd assumed it was canned by now.

Westwood all the way. They invented the strategy game (dune2). The main thing i have against Blizzard strategy games is that the units are basicly the same on both sides, and there is usually no way to sneak attack. I do like Warcraft 3 though

I think C&C was the start of the strategy games and Westwood were the best for a long while, but in my opinion their games cannot be as good as Blizzards. Games like Diablo II and Warcraft III are superb and have no bugs ( except the Crypt Lord on the Fhrozen Throne )

So Blizzard gets my vote.

i used to like blizzard til they banned all 8 of my diablo 2 accounts, (the rat *******s), and anything that wouldve been worth a ban that i would have done peope are STILL doing without any problems, and they cant answer the question "why?"


so id pick the other one anyday even though ive never played any of those, blizzard killed 3/4 thier d2 economy when they decided to start banning legit accounts,

I have endless link up fun with C+C and a psx, and RA1 was great, as was all of them, So I have to vote for westwood..















But on the other hand...



C+C Genreals was the bigest pile of **** I ever had seen and if I meet the person would not only make him eat his own **** but also get his own **** and throw it at his own mother.

they do it for a reason, so that must mean you hacked (used hacks) or have done something with hacks.

anyway, it sucks westwood got bought into ea. I wouldnt be suprised if EA buy's Blizzard.

I would have to say Blizzard, StarCraft was just a perfect example of one of the most perfect games that I have ever come across, and I play it eagerly online allmost everyday for hours on end, its great balanced. sure it might look out dated, but the graphics arent what make a game. and after playing the game for allmost 5 years (since 98 when it was released) i would consider myself a pro. and where I live when I go to lans Im usually the victor, killing my friend in a min-10 using a zergling rush have 2 sunkens and a spawning pool and 2 overlords. while he had nothing. Im also able to get battle cruisers in under 5 mins... practice getting "air" units fast and then you can nock alot of the "average" people out of the water, especially if they are messing with lings, zeolots, marines.

lol, this is probably the most INTERESTING thread i've seen in a while.. it made me think. Its a REALLY hard decision seeing as I grew up on RA1, playing modem to modem connection with my friend everyday after school, we'd always use the nurple maps and own the comps. Those were good times.. after RA1 we discovered a much nicer game that had Internet playing capabilities, this being Starcraft, after playing the **** out of it, we got the expansion and played that for years until we came across a new game, Warcraft II, we played that for long, until RA2 came out. But now we get together everynight and play either Warcraft III: Frozen Throne or Diablo II: LOD. We did play Generals for a bit, but got bored of it pretty fast.
So to say whos better? I dont know.. Westwood is fading into darkness fast, and there now mostly known as EA. Though EA always did own Westwood, it dosnt look like the Westwood franchise will be along for much longer. And with Vivendi planning on selling Blizzard soon they'll both be in a hole. All in all we spen most time playing the Blizzard games. But not by very much, I'd choose Blizz for their AMAZING storylines and gameplay, Westwood definatly lacked that (stupid Tanya). Hope yall liked muh story
*EDIT*: To nuttzy: I read your post on the banning, but I'm afraid thats probably the biggest load of bull**** i've heard from you. Blizzard never banned legit accounts. They banned ANYONE using 3rd party programs INCLUDING maphack. Also, in NO WAY did blizzard ruin the economy on DII that they created, that is HANDS DOWN the dupers fault. If the economy wasnt so ****ed up i'd still be playing that game. And if you got banned for duping then I believe you deserved it in my humble opinion. Thats about all I got to say about that.

The only time when I find Generals a fun game is when I play as GLA and build 10 scud bases The pwnage of the Scud,it spells dewm for your opponent(which means your buddy )

Right now Im bugging my mom to buy TFT,I definitely need it,but it's a bit at the bad side because it was released on July the 2nd,not 1st....

If you put blizzard in the competition, There are no competiters. Westwood got some decent games, but when it comes to down to games like Starcraft, Warcraft, or Diablo, who can you call to start a war on something (Blizzard, but Santa Claus might pick up the phone :laff: ).
I'm literally dieing to get Starcraft: Ghost. Yeah yeah, i know its nothing like the other of Blizzard's games, but hey. If Blizzard does awsome with strategy/rpg games. Why didnt they try Adventure games before? I'm waiting on bigger news for Starcraft2, but SC:G sticks in my mind every day. Blizzard all the way! It'll freeze hell and make it a better place... that was a bad way to put it :S .
*EDIT- Wait nm. If you put Squarsoft in the competition, the other's will cower in little corners. Squarsoft= RPG god. Is there anything elsei need to say?

I find that Blizzard is more easy to navigate through cuz Westwood is more complicated to go through just to find one server. Blizzard is easier. Thats my opinion. :yes:
