Well I decided to pick up some modelling again and learn better poly flow so here I go.

Naruto Fan Character David Halo
From `Treetop Village`

Might be used in a game I don't know, might try and throw him in quake 3 and rig em up.

Concept :

3d So Far Flatshade:

3d So Far SmoothShade:

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v327/davidhalo/smooth.jpg">

Vertexes arent welded down the middle yet so may not look entirely smooth. Still lots of work to do.

Polycount so Far : 166 !!!!!!! My kunai model is bigger -_-
I'll keep you updated

looks really promising :) btw, do this, itll help you view your referances better in max.

go customize - preferances - viewports then configure drivers, and check the box saying "make bitmap as close as possible"

itll increase the resolution of any material your using

The polycount is in triangles. I never count in quads.

Going to work on arms, ankle and feet next then get into the kunai holders, belt and all other details.

BTW : How do I post a nice render with edged faces to show
the wireframe but still show the model without holes. I'm not
that good with rendering elements.

While on the move tool, select your character and duplicate it by holding shift and clicking the model. now go to modify and in the modifier drop down list select "push" and change the value to 0.01. All you gotta do know is go into materials and change it to wire then apply.

It's okay if you forgot. Technically I don't even consider myself a modeller. The best work I made in my whole time as one was a frickin Kunai so that's not to say much. I'm mainly a 3d animator, 2d artist and concept designer.

Anklets/Feet & Arms Done. Poly's Getting a bit higher.

Polycount : 800

That's pretty cool, but I think the baggy pant look ruins it =/

i would say not to model on the armbands, just to skin them on, and make the sleeve thing a sepperate element, and have the bottom of the arm go into it slightly, this means you can have a less high poly arm, without having to worry about connecting all the vertecies :)

Hands Are Done Now. After I'm done the head and hair and such I will get on to the belt and kunai holder and those details before I begin skinning and rigging.

its looking really great man, but are you counting polies or triangles? it looks like its a bit more than 1200 triangles.

crit wise, the fingers look like they could use some work particularly the thumb connection, and your hands general shape is a bit deformed... could we maybe see a wireframe?

It's in faces (squares). So triangles would be double it so about 2200, getting a bit high up there, hopefully it'll still be a good ingame model if I keep it under 3000.

Sorry for the crap quality on these shots. I didn't want to mess in photoshop at the same time as Max so here ya go
