Ok, new idea.

Beams in ESF are currently only circular, I suggest that If you shoot a beam at someone within a certain range, say 25 feet ingame, the blasts shoot in a V like way. Like Goku's Kame against Cell. Goku didn't get ripped to half also.

i think beams should either be detonated by the player or by terrain but not during power struggles.... becuase i think beams should be able to blast through someone.. if you fire a beam up close, you also will get caught up in the blast radius.. but if it goes through the opponent, then it wont happen...

i suggest that if the person looses the block struggle and hasn't touched terrain, the blast would go through the player so that your own beam wont blow in your face

I don't think it's a good idea ...
if you miss him one time (he can dodge easily) you havn't a chance to hit him with this bug ...
and you won't have a chance to kill a lamer which shots everytimes a big beam ... he won't get damage, if you shoots you ... nah ... I don't think so
and ... it's much to code ... maybe anywhen in a far future version ...

ive said it before in just about every other beam topic like this

beams are too hard to hit with right now because the maps are quite large and the people quite small

because its so hard to hit beam detonating is needed for beams to actualy be usefull

Wow I have never had a problem hitting people with beams. But for those of you who do, then why not just make beams bigger the more they are charged? Also it would be coool if that close range build-up was put in game. You know where Goku zanzoken kamehamehas cell and it turns into three big energy bubbles before going through him. That would be way cool.

Whats wrong with dodging? I mean in DBZ did the enemy never dodge? Isnt the concept of a game to Hit and Dodge?

Im not talking abvout this replacing the beam, I'm saying if you happen to have anyone in front of you with 25 feet, ingame ofcourse, it would be the V attack so you yourself dont get hit. The plus side would be the attack would be 3x stronger.

In everyone one of your posts, I see you say it would be hjard to code... Well I dont think this would be hard to code, everything isnt hard to code. It can be done, and how will the coders better themselves without trying?

This is only to prevent yourself from getting hit by your own beam, as stated before.
