You need to work on your timing, and use less distortion on the solo part (as well as practice it).

You also need to tune your guitar closer to how metallica has it tuned, you have a bad sour harmonic between you and the recording.

Sounds pretty decent over all. Cuc's right, but I don't think the distortion is overdone really. That song has some pretty powerful distortion in it.

Yes, sorry about that. I was answering the thread while helping my wife with her Algebra final, so I only dropped a crit with no praise. I found that your timing could be tighter, but you had your notes down. How long have you been playing for? Other than the tune and tightened timing, you had a fairly decent performance. You should honestly record another without any background noise, including the track your playing in the background. I'm not fantastic myself, but I do having tuning down to a science thanks to sensitive ears.

A point of praise would be your very clean harmonics, good job on those.
