Avatar not working?

When I try to put in an avatar (5.8kb 51x100 pixels) from my computer it just gives me an error:

Warning: move_uploaded_file(/home2/esf/www/forum/customavatars/vbupload2452): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home2/esf/public_html/forum/includes/functions_upload.php on line 58

Any help?

the avatar thing is broken atm
