Any way to speed up Doom 3?

Man I'm pissed. I just bought Doom 3 and it lags like a mother ****er on my pc. Any way to reduce the lag? And when I say lag I mean 8 FPS Counter Strike Lag. Please help?

Yeah, your best bet would be to buy a new computer, or parts of a new computer. Doom 3 hogs CPU power like nobodies buisiness. I borrowed it from a friend and it might as well have been running in 'slideshow' mode.

And what is 8 FPS CS lag anyway?

Turn down your settings alot! Their was a thread before, I remember someone posting some stuff on how get good fps.

I'll post my modified config. Made the game FLY on my system on higher settings than I thought I would be able to manage. Hang tight.
