:notice: I want you to make a system like in BFP, to add the characters we create, because it's boring to replace one character by another...

For example: I create two models (Gotenks and SSJ Gotenks) and I place the model in esf/model/player/gotenks and esf/model/player/ssjgotenks , in a special file (for ex: esf/chars) I add a text file with the character infos. (his strength, his powers, his StartPow Level, his TransPow Level, his powers when SSJ....)

Then I launch the game, I select my team and in the chars selection I take "9 Custom Characters" and "1 Gotenks"....

If there is a thing you don't understand in my idea, tell me please...

I hope the mod finish...

Yes, one thing I dont understand is how this will all work. So you can make up your own attacks for these custom characters and make them do whatever damage you want and whatever speed? Cuz this idea makes no sense. The only thing I understand is that you want to be able to add characters w/o losing any and that would require a change in the code, an unrealistic one.

I think it's something the team could look into after, say, moving out of beta. To balance it though they'd have to put a hell of a lot of work into a character creation function, with races, stat points, and all kinds of point-restricted RPG style rules. Not or a very very long time, if ever.

Testing... is this thing on? I'm just being creative (and annoying). I feel that there's quite a bit of potential in a system like the one described above (by myself) in the future, just not now. Could be a side project to chip away at while the new betas come rolling out. Just a thought

anyway i dont think this would be a good idea

all anyone would do is make a goku and give him 99999999999 hp ki and so on there would be like 1 real character in a sea of cheat characters

well they can give it boundarys etc....
but I like the idea of adding more characters because I am a MOD nut, every game I have I have a mod for and not just something small I mean total conversions
and moding a mod is something I have yet to do :)
but seriously I would like to add more characters because the more characters the more of a varity you have to choose from, like one day I might wanna be majin vegeta another day I might wanna be sayian saga vegeta etc....
and I know I can replace the models mdl file but I would rather change character in the current character selection screen and have them with their own custom moves.
So Yeah, I ramble a bit

I'm saying way down the line you could come up with an in game system where you would have a certain number of points and selectable races which you could put together in whichever way best fits your playing style and go from there. You'd have some really fast but weak human characters or some big slow Brolli wannabes.

So basically it'd be like the 'Create Your Character' screen in the begining of an RPG?
Way far into the future of ESF, that would be really cool.
Just make a little point distribution system! :p So for example, if a character has much more HP than the default level, their speed (or any other attribute, it doesn't have to be speed) would be much less, or something along those lines.

Esf is fine as it is now, adding a "create your own character" thing would unbalance and ruin the game.

i think it would suck, even with rpg points, cause people would put all points into 1 attack and then spam with it

no new inventions could be added to 1 character cause other characters could take that too and make notfunny combinations (i dunno 1 yet)

something like everquest where you can create a character and give him basic points, then solve quests to make him better and someday you will have a shop where u sell weapons

I had a similar idea, Look at the thread here

But perhaps the most minimum thing would be so that you could change the model in game which can be done with the model command already, but to also use the sounds from the sound folder matching the model name and maybe their attacks if theres some custom attack file made for it or something. I personnaly dont think it would be that hard to do the basic parts and then slowley work up, but then what the **** do i know =/ lol

To elaborate on the custom move thing, would it be hard to make it so that you could make that character use a like ini file or something so it could have like

[MODELNAME]
StartPL=800000
TransPL=1750000
TransModel=modelname
SoundPack=sounddirectoryname
Move1=kiblast
Move2=genbeam
Move3=kamehameha
etc?

I apologize for yabbering on and perhaps being annoying to people that do not like the idea atall, sorry.

When you create a model it would work somehow to put it into Esf.
But for playing online it would be very annoying downloading everyone´s else characters.
Because you dont have the others characters on your pc and then if you would have to load the others character it would lag really much.
Maybe for only Lan Game.
