Some people find their own method to learning, i learn more from practical use than i do by just reading a book. Its called kinetic learning i think.

No.
My God, dat arm movements. If he were an airbender, we'd have a hurricane. O.O

I think that he was simply being a jerk to that teacher. He doesn't understand that teachers get tiny amounts of money for what they do, so it is hard to be very vibrant. He's probably spoiled by excelling teachers in the past.

If that teacher were to do anything but 'Give them a packet, yo!', then I'm sure they'd get some sort of warning from the educational authorities for not following the actual curriculum.

What the news does for a story these days.. I personally don't find this news-worthy.

It's a big deal when some random white kid complains, but when generations of impoverished point out that the public education system in most inner cities is ******* them and isn't teaching them the fundamentals or giving them the tools they need to prosper, it's just business as usual. Whatever.

I guess I can see something from both sides. For one we don't know when this is taking place. For all we know it could have been after a small lecture on how to do this and he didn't pay attention. It could be a daily thing for them. A worksheet to recap what they did yesterday before moving on to something new. But you know the news. And I understand the hate for worksheets. I used to make a bet with my teacher that the grades would be better if he made the examples himself and made us work them work them out of the board instead of on a worksheet. I was right for my class's case.

Thanks for stating things that we already knew. If you feel that strongly for it then run for a local state position so you can attempt to change things.. or you can just keep pointlessly typing away on your keyboard and be all liek 'whatever' There are plenty of people in this world who are outraged by how the world is yet none of them are big enough to take the reigns.

You are wholly ignorant of NYC politics, and based on your response, wholly ignorant of American politics, in general. But of course, you missed the point of my post. What that manchild stated isn't revolutionary, or even unheard of. Its something people have been stating for decades. It's bizarre that he's receiving any media attention.

I concur, maybe not even local newspaper-newsworthy.
Me three. Things like this happened every couple of months in my highschool, we just didn't have cameras to record it back in the days. Perhaps there are several cultural/education system reasons for American kids not to speak up to their teachers that much?

American kids get kicked out of their classes when they take on their teachers, like he did, and then nothing more is said or done about it. You'll probably get reprimanded or receive some kind of disciplinary punishment because how dare you confront a teacher about anything. Youtube is the only reason this story went anywhere, and it doesn't even begin to describe whats wrong with out education system. It's just an apathetic teacher being apathetic and an 18 year old sophomore demanding justice. The issue that I was alluding to is, at least where I'm from, the people standing up to the students aren't white.

There was no need to explain what your point was about, I understood it perfectly fine I just chose not to address it because like I mentioned it in my post, you were just stating the obvious. I know that this guy isn't news worthy nor is he 'revolutionary' I do not understand why you think I would think that seeming how I never stated that I did. Why are you surprised that there is shitty news on American TV?

You are intent on arguing. This much is clear. You've chosen not to understand my point for the second time. This much is also clear. If you'd like me to spell it out for you, and break it down barney style for the special among us, I would be happy to do so. I suggest, rather than glance at my post, you actually read it, because it's addressing a larger issue than, "This guy isn't saying anything important." As for our media, specifically Fox, I think you'll find its entirely an Australian's fault.

I found it somehow curious how 'the Dutch' seem to all shrug it of as an everyday school interaction, while the others built it into a political debate. This guy would probably get kicked out in my high school too, but more constructive criticism or confrontation was possible with many teachers, or could be mediated through our homeroom teacher.

It depends entirely on where in the nation you live. If you live in the inner city, you're going to have shittier teachers, and more confrontations between students and faculty. If you live in the nicer parts of the city, you're going to have better teachers, higher standards, and you'd be less likely to break the status quo. Same for living in the suburbs. The more concentrated the population, the less the teachers seem to care for various reasons that can't be rolled up into a single statement. I'm not sure why someone calling out their teacher is deemed newsworthy, as it literally occurred in my school every single day with different levels of efficacy. That said, I care less about what he's saying and more about why they're skylining him. Was it a slow news day, or is this kind of rhetoric only worth listening to when it comes from a certain kind of person?

As for you, Critical_Error, a name that suits you spectacularly, you have literally no idea what you're saying and are spewing words for the sake of doing so. If you'd like to engage in some kind of conversation, the kind one would find on, say, a forum, I'm all ears. Otherwise, be still child. The adults are talking.

Okay, let's not pretend Diomedes actually does something else sometimes. :p
