Damn student, all idealistic... It seems like he's a good guy but he's just extremely butt-hurt.
Tell me when someone has never seen a lazy mentor before.

I think this topic should be on the news also.

We only have one side of the story here. The teacher could be terrible and apathetic, or she could just be teaching what the curriculum says she teaches. Plus high school kids tend to exaggerate shit / act in ways contrary to logic.

This.
Although it's nice to see that the guy didn't actually lose his shit there and start screaming and swearing.

The curriculum is a guideline, though. The teacher makes the lesson plan and gets it approved before it ever reaches the classroom. He's also complaining about her teaching method, which is to just hand out work and call it a day because its just a paycheck to her, apparently.

@Sub high school kids are dumb. They rather procrastinate then study. They think they knew everything, they don't. They attend to drop out of school and do what is best for their lives. I never.

Jeff Bliss (a student) complains because the teacher never gave them the answer but handed out the sheets instead. And Jeff got up "mad" and started lecturing her because she's to STUBBORN to teach her class.

To be fair though if thats all the teacher did since they started teaching a class was to give out worksheets all the time then fair enough Jeff had a right to complain, perhaps not in that dramatic manner but yeah, if i had the same self confidence back then i would of done the exact same.

As for you, Critical_Error, a name that suits you spectacularly, you have literally no idea what you're saying and are spewing words for the sake of doing so. If you'd like to engage in some kind of conversation, the kind one would find on, say, a forum, I'm all ears. Otherwise, be still child. The adults are talking.
Sometimes you talk as if you are normal then you say stuff like this and ignore logic just so you can troll some more? I don't understand that. Nor do I understand why you think it's okay to attempt to 'bully' members of a community that you are a part of. You appear to hate on everyone that isn't in your group of friends on this forum.. can you not see how pointless and pathetic that is? My aim here is not to attempt to make you feel bad or anything of that nature, rather to try and understand why you essentially 'get off' from typing things to people in a rude manor over the internet? A serious answer would be nice but I doubt I would get that from you.

First, go ahead and take a look at who targeted whom with what post. If you ask someone to help with reading comprehension, a skill you sorely lack, I'm sure they'd be willing to oblige. Secondly, what is the point in continuing this conversation if not to argue? Which, you know, goes back to my original assessment of your inflammatory post, where I stated you clearly wanted to argue and logic be damned. Third, I made you a sig to help illustrate what I think of you without using mean words that may cause you to cry yourself to sleep:

You're welcome. Let no one say I am not a giving man.

You can't really say someone's being a bully when you weren't even addressed and/or thought of and you post this without any provocation.

Thanks for stating things that we already knew. If you feel that strongly for it then run for a local state position so you can attempt to change things.. or you can just keep pointlessly typing away on your keyboard and be all liek 'whatever' There are plenty of people in this world who are outraged by how the world is yet none of them are big enough to take the reigns.
You just came in with a confrontational tone for the sake of arguing. Which was Zeo's point.

also this is the 2nd time Fabian makes a thread and it starts to turn into an arguing shitstorm. I guess his threads are the perfect place for it.

There's a documentary called Waiting for Superman and it's all about the American education system, I highly recommend it.

One of my teachers used to say that there are "teachers" and there are "educators"...
The first one just goes to the classroom and does whatever he/she has to do to kill time and pretend to do the job right and waits for a paycheck.
The second one just goes to the classroom, does whatever he/she has to do to teach and to make each student of the classroom a better person regardless of what he/she's being paid.

Nowadays, because of the actually economic world situation, I think most teachers are just "teachers". They do that because they need the money rather than just pure passion for education.
Judging from the teacher's reaction ("yeah, whatever... just get out...zzzzzz....yea...sure...sure"), she obviously doesn't care about her student's education, and that's where the kid's got a point.

What is impressive in this video is that almost no kid in school gets kicked out of the class just because he's complaining about the lack of interest of the teacher for teaching her students,
i think i can speak for everyone here when i say that we all never cared for such things when we were ('are', for some people here) in school, we'd just... do the homework and get it over with.
That, and the sudden raise in views in youtube for that video was the reason why the news chose to talk about it.

Most kids aren't 18 when they're sophomores, either.

He dropped out of school and then came back because he realised he wanted education.

This is something a teacher said:
I am an educator. I can tell you from experience that most teachers do not sit there, hand out a packet and play angry birds on their computer.
I do not know what she is doing, but I know in my own classroom, I am constantly engaging my students.
For 95% of teachers out there, it's not the paycheck we are working for, it's for the education of our students.
Jeff Bliss - I applaud you, YOU are the reason I work 80+ hours a week teaching, grading, planning and tutoring my students.
Is not about being young or old to study. Is about the lack of interest of the teachers for the education of their students.
