A small milkshape Question!

I tried to export an smd file of some ms3d file a friend of mine sent me
long long ago
what i am trying to do is compiling it but its too complicated!!!
(bah)

and I get this messege:
vertex with invalid bone assignment! Model not exported!

anyway help about this issue would be apprisiated!
but also some help about compiling my model file of milkshape
would be great!!!

Edit:
I have a skin map of one version of this model in one file

but in another file the bone assignment is fine
but the skin map in it isnt right!

what I want to do is to clone the skin map from one
file exactly the same to the other
now I understand that skin map depends its model!
but I am telling you that its exactly the same model!!!
its just in another stance! I mean position!

so what can I do???

please try to answer both(or all 3?) of my questions!!!

that means theres a vertex (one or more) that isnt assigned to a bone. on the joints tab click the SelUnAssigned button to see which vertexes you have left to assign.

edit:
bah i know it is...
its way way too much!
but I have an already assigned model file!
the only thing is that its not skinned!!!
the unassigned model file (which is of the same model)
IS skinned
how do I do... whatever.... with the skins...
I mean
the un assigned one has a good skin map that match the model good!
the assigned one has a skinmap that looks ugly! with the nice skin!!

so what to do?
(btw thnx for helping me MP!)
