I have a program called MMORPG Maker, and it can make MMORPGs like Diable 2 but is a pretty powerful tool to change anything.

just wondering everyones opinion on if this would be a good idea, would take some time but it could work out well.

What it will have:
- Create your own Z Fighter or Villian.
- level up and learn abilities as you go.
- Create a group to fight evil or cause chaos.
- travel to other planets and explore the worlds
- Choose what race you want to be. Be a Saiyan, or the green namekians, chose just about any race thats in DBZ
- Reach peaks to transform to a new State!
- go on quests to gain certain specialties.

this is just a small dose of what will be in it. ill be updating the list in time.

How do you think this sounds?

And if you have any ideas feel free to share!

Well it SOUNDS great, but it also sounds likea hefty project.

Tho I wouldnt mind fusions, capsules that hold items, houses, only 1 set of dragon balls, when you die you actually go to the other world, if 2 extreemly high level players are powerstruggling, the whole map should vibrate, and the ability to blow up parts of the planet would be nice.

I think the races you should add are:

Human
Saiyan
Namek
Half-Human, Half-Saiyan
Tuffle
Android (with optional biomechanics)
Changeling (Frieza, Coola etc)
Alien
Mutant

There were others but I think those were the main ones.

This sounds really good. If you actually finish it, like I know I wouldn't, then I'd definitely play. Also; Ravendust, what race is Tuffle, I haven't heard of them before.

They're a race of human-like aliens that were very smart but weak. They invented most of the technology you see in DBZ like scouters and blasters. They were wiped out by the Saiyans but two survived. Dr. Raichii* (Plan to Destroy the Saiyans, he created Hatchyack) and Dr. Myuu (GT, he created Baby).

*Also known as Dr. Egui

Hrm, make it and see, I guess. I just hope this "MMORPG Maker" isn't anything like RPG Maker 95/2000/whatever the heck there is now, where people point-and-click to change one or two things from a template and release the creation as a "game."

("Tuffle" is the stupid name that replaced Tsufuru-jin in the translated episodes. >_<)

do you have some pics how it will look? i mean, not the game your gonna make, but maybe from other games that were made with this mmorpg maker, i wonder how it will look, maybe also some pics of the maker itself, cos i wonder if this is just something like rpg maker or if its more something like BYOND :p

i really hope its more like byond, byond is way more versitale than something like rpg maker, since you need to code everything yourself instead of point and click

Its kinda works like rpg maker, simple yet, not tile based, it will be in 3d, kinda top perspective view, kinda like diablo 2 but you can change how the game works. i never heard of Byond, what is that one?

ìts a 2d game creator, but unlike rpg maker you dont point and click, but you really code stuff in so you can customize it to your hearts contents....really awesome, that means you can make everything you want thats possible with 2d, from card games to mmorpgs, to building games, chatrooms etc etc...

Hate to say, a professional DBZ MMORPG wasn't/isn't being made, because DBZ's popularity is fading naturally since it's end. You can try to make one on your own, but I don't think you realize how much work and effort goes into creating one that many people will/can actually play, and all the bandwidth/servers you'd need to support it.

Anyway.. If a Japanese company wanted to make an enormous amount of money, they'd start making a Naruto MMORPG or a One Piece MMORPG right about now--by the time it'd be finished, Naruto will be popular in the US, and it'd be a hit. *shrug*

im aware how much effort is in it, and with $20 you buy a server from where you get the editor, ill have to buy it, and i wont be the only one working on this, i already have help and looking for more, right now im just making an outline for the game.

Not to discourage you, but it goes far beyond simply having the money and the people to help you out.
What's your reason for making a DBZ MMPORG? If your two primary responses are because it would be cool, or fun, then I don't think (though I do hope) that you have a reasonable chance of success. But don't take my word for it there are hundreds of mods that fail on a regular basis because of a lack of dedication.
IMO the way you feel about the project is the most influential in whether it will reach completion and/or success, but there's also the technical and human perspective to consider, such as do you have an art team and coder that can perform to the level of quality required by the project? Can you be or are you a leader?

Once again I don't mean this as discouragement; I'm hoping this helps you at least a little and let's you know what you're in for. And if you know this already and can say that you know how to, are going to, or have dealt with what little I mentioned then you're off to a great start and I would have been better off having never said anything ^^;

to be honest, if i were you, i would first go create the game on byond, this way you can see if the game has enough unique features to become populair enough, when your game gets really populair, i would suggest using the program you want to use now, if you dont, well then there is a chance you will be doing all this work for nothing since dbz isnt THAT populair anymore, like Alea said, it would be smarter if they would start making a mmorpg for naruto, one piece (dunno what it is, i dont watch it) and bleach, those are probably the most populair animes out there now and you would be better off too if you would choose one of these animes
