I've had a 64bit processor for awhile but haven't moved to windows xp 64. I was wondering if there are any problems with it, and if it would be a good idea to just make the move from 32bit to 64bit windows. My main concern is compatibility, I know it can run 32 bit apps, but it's drivers I'm worried about.

Yea i've heard about application issues that can be dished out in the 64 bit windows. 64 bit is suppose to make your comp faster.

I never really understood 64 bit but meh... 32 bit seems alot more stable.

64 bit windows pushes more power, but not so much that it merits the expensive upgrade from home edition. If you were making the jump from an older installation of windows, or if you had over 3 gigs of Ram installed in your system, you would do yourself well to select the more 'powerful' operating system between the two. As it is you aren't losing out on very much though, and there still are some compatibility issues to iron out for 64 bit if you're the kind of person who does audio or video editing from time to time.

Well, the only plus side I can see in moving to 64-bit Windows is the additional RAM you can use (if your motherboard supports memory remapping, that is). With 64-bit Windows, you can use up to 4 GB of RAM.

I agree, only go for 64-bit if you're running more than 2gb RAM and you use programs that require/benefit from that much or more (HD video editing, 3D modelling etc...). I used 64-bit Vista Ultimate for a while then switched back to 32-bit as the only change I noticed was incompatiblity with certain programs/drivers.
