Well 750Gb HDD drives are the barrier at the moment, 2 of them will give you one and a half Terabytes.

But you remember when the 20gb was first released? Everyone was saying "omg I will never use that much space!"

Now its hard enough, (For me) Putting up with 200 or so Gb of drive space.
Will this drive have built in flash memory to boosts performance at all?
Hehe, the jump between 10 and 20 GB was a little smaller then 750GB and 300 @&*~@)# TERABYTES!!!!!!!! GEEZ DUDE ARE YOU LIVING IN A BOX?

1 TB=1000 GB......300000 GB= 3 HUNDRED THOUSAND GB OF DISK SPACE!

If they have a good price tag then I'll buy one.....then never need to worry about deleteing anime again from my comp.

I would have better seen the hdd decrease it's seek time by a 300 fold and started acting more like ram...than increasing the size. I agree that the average user won't find much usage for it besides giving it down through the parent-to-son cycle.

"Son, my time has come...here take this hdd, it contains all the porn me and your ancestors have downloaded throughout history and some killer games which are considered trash today"<o></o>

Interesting, even more interesting then the something I was reading the other day which uni student said he could store 50TB on a peace of paper, and that can be done her per square inch.

Eh, I think you've overestimating the paper thing.
Paper Article said:
the Rainbow Versatile Disc (RVD) can store 90 to 450 GB
Still neat, though.

Or find an alternative to using disks that spin at hundreds of rotations per second. Hard drives are so... 1990 =p.

We just need a 12,000+ RPM 300TB Drive ;P
Pfft, we need 12,000+ RPS 300TB Drives. Spins up so fast you and everyone around you die.

Your computer will crash, because there is too much empty space on your harddrive

You bring up a good point, 48 bit LBA just became obsolete again. Hello new drive overlay programs, please, wreck my **** when SATA 0 crashes.

I have 960gb and with all the backups of DVD's, CD's and PS2 games I have less than a third of that remaining. Now imagine if they were Blu-ray/HD-DVD games or films =\

Although it would be cheaper to re-buy a $12 DVD than a new $220 HDD to store the backups on :S

I'm pretty sure BlueRay and HD-DVD were made gigantic to make copying and sharing difficult.

Back when 20Gb was first released, I was still stuck with a 500Mb HDD. -.-

And I was only using it at as reference! Jeezus, Some people are quick to jump the gun and complain?

Anyhow, Its quite easy to get 1.5 Tera bytes. Just 2x 750 Giggers from Seagate!

But I doubt this drive will be out for quite awhile, Having drives this large would be catered to the high-end. Which leaves out the mid range etc.

Edit: Confirmation on 1 Terabyte drive to be released in about 6 months time from seagate.

How long doyou think it will take for 300 Terabytes? :p
