Is Skyrim really worth all the hype? Statistically it's the most played game on Steam by far last time I checked!
Not only it's pricey but the trailer didn't really sway me all that much. I'm trying to figure out what magnetic force has everyone been pulled to and howcome I'm one of the exceptions who didn't find it all that prestigious.

Its because you haven't played any of the earlier TES. And just so you know, the Trailer showed nothing about why people love the game. The actiony sequences are not what makes people love Skyrim.

Telling you why people love it would just ruin some of the charm. Play the game, there is a reason why everyone is loving it.

I played Oblivion, didn't like it too much, but it was okay. Skyrim though is amazing. One of my favorite games.

I didn't like Oblivion either. But people who loved Morrowind loved Skyrim, and that is enough for me.

You have had to play previous games in order to play this sequel.
You mean to tell me such a massive magnitude of people played the earlier games and therefore spent 60 bucks on Skyrim?

I find it hard to believe in conjunction with all the rest of the games that are simultaneously played...
a lot of the famous games only have 600 players playing them per day, and then you see over 250,000 players in Skyrim! It's just difficult for me to grasp since it's not a five minute try-out (both Morrowind and Oblivion) and I didn't get hooked on Oblivion despite playing it for several hours. I disliked how slow it was and I felt as if I'm playing a game that has no focus on my current position - and I did like fallout 3 so it's not that I dislike open worlds. I hope you understand what I mean now.
